Re: Track70 Build!!

Really liking this build. I might have to borrow your radio delete idea as well.

So that style of radio will fit right in the heater control area... hmmmm... Might just have to take a page out of that book as well..lol

The rear shocks are in the stock mounting locations but i used front shocks..plenty of enough travel for bumps and compresses a lot so it does not bottom out on shock..And that is not a arms connecting the trailing arms. It's a rear sway bar that i got from CPP!..Hope this helps ya.

And Thanks guys..I really having fun with it..It will be going under the knife again soon for stage 2 of my build.

Re: Track70 Build!!

Very cool truck! I see you've added a sway bar out back. Details on that? Gonna do a rear shock relocate? Check out post #311 on this thread...

Well guys it's been a little awhile..I have been busy moving into a new home with a garage so i can really get some stuff done! Anyways i have also been busy on Track70 also getting it ready for Stage 2 of my build which you will see what that is shortly.

Got the truck up in the air and pulled the drivetrain out for a rebuild!

Got the motor torn apart and ready for new goodies!

And a little sneak peek of what's to come!

Now i just have to start cleaning up everything and get it put back together before the show season starts back up in March!

Re: Track70 Build!!

Been busy with work and side jobs but finally got some work done on Track70

Got the frame cut for the notches and ready to weld, And since of course I'm a welder by trade..I thought id weld them completely up..Plus it looks cleaner with no bolts showing!

After all that welding i got the Slam RE7's mounted up and seen how low she's gonna go..Might have to cut the bed floor!

And While working on the rear the front bag brackets showed up from thorbecke brother's.. More work for me i guess!!

Re: Track70 Build!!

Very clean work dude! Motor looks awesome and the c-notch job is perfect! What are your thoughts on strength at the notch? I'm not sure If I'll need to notch mine or not. I've got the upper shock mounts behind the axle on both sides so I feel like I shouldn't notch it if I don't have to.

Thank you.. And i think the notch is actually making the frame stronger cause your overlapping it and somewhat boxing it. And welding it up completely makes it EVEN stronger!

Re: Track70 Build!!

Well it's been a couple months but Track70 has been seeing a lot of love!

Got the Frame completely cleaned and painted and finally installed everything back on for the final time.

Also got the front suspension done with the new blue powder coated MMW arms and the thorbeck bros. air bag brackets.

New Ram Clutch and Flywheel were installed..Along with a aluminum Camaro bellhousing!

Now my Favorite part..Motor going back in.

After motor was dropped in i went and picked up the transmission from the rebuilder..all new on the inside and a fresh coat of paint on the outside!
