Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

That's fantastic !! Now all you will want to do is drive it. Enjoy all the waves and looks you get. Then work on it this winter when its cold and raining.

Yup... My wife (its for her) is stoked, and can't wait to drive it- she was gone all day yesterday and didn't get a chance. Tonight is her night I think.

Still has no tail lights... and the front tire goes flat in about 2 hours... But feels like I'm over the hump- Fires up and runs great off the original cleaned out gas tank... all new hard lines for gas & brakes... Good oil pressure, seems to hold temp.....

Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

If you need a stock wire diagram, I have one I could copy and send. Makes it easier to sort out the lights.

Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

Thanks, I have one I printed off the net... its hard to read but it gave me what i need.

Someone previously hacked up the taillight wiring on this when they added a trailer wiring ....

I'm going to remove it all back to the brake light switch on the floor pan and run new from there.

I have a new set of stock tailights (with blue dots...ooooooo!) that came with the truck, but not sure if i want to use them. A little too shiny. I almost prefer the cheapo trailer lights that are on there now, except the pass side is bashed and smashed.

May have to pickup some cheap ones at harbor freight to keep the junky look, pkus they are already setup for the dual filiment bulbs needed for the turn signals.

Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

Are the tail lights the square stock ones or the round '54 style ?

Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

They are round, kinda large. I assumed they were some kind of aftermarket or trailer brake light someone bolted on there.
I know they aren't the sqare 53's since i have the new ones... Not sure what the 54 ones looked like... So maybe?

Heres the only shot i have showing them (when it was still sitting in oregon)

Re: Five Hundred Dollar Fifty Three

they look like they may be stock 54's. If you want to part with them let me know.
