Re: 1969 c10 build, input needed. Boss 338's, ECE 4/6 drop

Your moving right along. Looking good. Did you end up using the ECE 4/6 kit? I agree, the back looks too low for a 4/6. The front will settle a little bit once you put some miles on it. I've always thought that 4/6 kits didn't drop the front enough. I took out the 1.5" spring and replaced it with a 2" spring for a total of 4.5" in the front. It seemed to be just enough to make it look right to me. Is there any way to post a pic of the rear suspension? Something has to be different causing it to sit that low. Your axle has to be very close to the frame the way it is sitting.

I did not. Went with cpp stuff, got hooked up with tnt motorsports ouy of Tulsa for the wheels and went ahead and ordered the suspension from him as well. He set me up with the 4.5/6. I'll work on rear pics. I have plenty of room between bumps and the axle....I did c notch the frame.

Cut a coil off the stock springs and threw them back in. Got the front quite a bit lower. Liking where it's sitting now. Hoping to get it to exhaust shop by end of the week, just waiting on muffler to show up. Going to do the 2 into one 3" pipe with a blow through muffler. Going to turn it out the side, stock car style. Ran that same setup on the cj7 I dropped the 5.3 into.

Hadn't mentioned that I picked up a buddy bucket console off a forum member last week. Had planned on waiting awhile to put buckets into it, but after putting about 100 miles on the truck yesterday my back was screaming at me. Not to mention it puts me looking through the steering wheel over the dash, and I'm 6'1". I ordered a set of procar 1400's. Going to try my luck pairing the procars with the factory center seat.

Your truck sounds great. I always enjoy looking at the Jeeps in your photobucket. That picture of (im guessing) you and your dad in the silver Laredo is awesome.

Thanks! Yeah quite a few jeeps in there, only recently added a few Chevy pictures. That is correct, that's what gave me the jeep fever. Ever since he sold it I've wanted one. So then figured why stop at one? LOL! Your jeep all finished up?

Its more or less done. I still have some things I want to upgrade. I think I need to do a total re wire on it. Im tired of fighting the old harness. Any recommendations? Im leaning toward the Painless kit.

Looks good! I have a brand new painless harness set aside that I pulled out of a parts jeep for a future project, it's very nice. I used a centech harness on the red jeep I put together with the 5.3. It was a nice product as well, and it was a good chunk cheaper.

Procars paired with the factory buddy bucket console all sitting on the procar mount. Hoping to get them in the truck tonight. Center seat is not mounted, just sitting there. Was going to wait to mount for good till I sized them up in the truck.

Re: 1969 c10 build, input needed. Boss 338's, ECE 4/6 drop

Not a whole lot has changed since last posting except for installing a new windshield. Ordered some more parts but they have just been sitting on the shelf. Put about 2000 miles on truck since putting together. Drives like a dream! Runs down the interstate at 80 no problem!

Today I ordered the last round of parts. So I should have everything to wrap up loose ends in the next couple of weeks if all goes as planned. Ordered all interior carpet, door seals, window felts, back glass seal, stainless bed hardware, bed wear strips, retro styled radio, power brake booster and master cylinder. Also picked up clear coat last week. Have two spots that need a little love on the body then I'm going to scuff entire thing and shoot it with clear. I am really anxious to see how it turns out. Only thing I have left to buy is wood for the bed. Weighing out my options there. Considering the lmc kit just for the ease of not having to router out the lips for the wear strips and the fact it's only $100 more from lmc vs getting the oak from my local lumber yard.

Put the truck to work delivering some grills to a somewhat local antique shop
