Re: Cool Truck Fleets

It's a job trying to keep them clean. I hired a kid to wash on Saturdays and he was the best I had ever had. He was so good they stole him and put him on a line crew. I have another one hired.

We have some dump trucks we bought a while back that haven't been painted yet and one Freightliner FLSD tractor in the shop getting painted.

I found another little dump truck out back that came in over the weekend from a job out of town. It has a Caterpillar 3126 with an Allison Automatic. It's handy as a pocket on a shirt.

And my personal pickup (picture taken with my old rotten cell phone). And a little better pic of the lowboy with a different excavator.

Actually Tim, we have a Dodge Ram Cummins dually. It is a workhorse but I don't have a picture of it. It is almost always hooked to a gooseneck trailer.

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

I'd have one. Wouldn't be nice if you could order light truck drivetrains like you can on large trucks? I'd have a Cummins/Allison.

I was in my Photobucket and came across this handsome fleet from Carlisle Trucks back in '08. Somebody's doing something right:

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

The equipment looks brand new, too. You wonder if they really work. Caterpillar is in York and I see new stuff headed out I-70 all the time. But Keen Transport is all I see hauling them. These trucks would have to get right messy to be dropping machines on sites. He must have slaves or a heck of a toy collection

Keen Transport. Nice fleet:

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

The owners of my current company I work for are Dallas Cowboys fans. Except for a few white trucks, most of our fleet are Grey trucks with Blue frames.

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

Special-K, every new piece equipment I ever hauled went to dealers. My loads home were Cat 980 Wheel Loaders from Aurora,IL either headed to Cashman in Vegas or Empire in Mesa, AZ.

Keen controls most ports. Of the top of my head, the only ports I didn't deal with Keen were Houston and Galveston. Also come to think of it, Ft. Lauderdale an Miami.

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

Those Cowboy colors are our ATHS chapter colors. We're the Mason-Dixon chapter, so they use Rebel-Yankee colors. Actually, The logo was taken from a now defunct trucking company of that name. Lee and Grant are shaking hands.

So you drove for Keen? I didn't realize they were all over until I Googled them.

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

Larry, I really like your fleet of red trucks. The theme looks good.

My wifes cousin has a fleet of trucks and he keeps them all as clean as he does this one spreading rock on my drives. He described this one as handy as a pocket on a shirt too.

He's spreading gravel on my parking spot.

I picked up another red truck in Ohio and just got home. I'll update with pics when I get it back from the sign shop.

I admire how clean these are. My new cleanup boy was supposed to start today but his supervisor had to take off. Man our trucks are nasty. It drives me crazy.

Re: Cool Truck Fleets

It's a hard time of year to keep a fleet (or one) clean, that's for sure. I wondered how far east you were coming when I saw you mention being on the road earlier. I always liked the medium duty Chevys like you have. I'd like a single wheel dump. Nice looking trucks.
