Two different types of phosphate processes (at least). I need to find that link. One is oiled afterwards. The other, I believe, the oil is in the bath, or something like. It has more corrosion protection.

I like the black phosphate as well. I just used about 50 of these reassembling my frame. 7/16-14x1-1/2 Grade 8 flange bolts and locking flange nuts.

i have ordered lots of them bolts from the bolt barn -always use them when i remove the spring hangers and clean up the frame rust& repaint ! i have a big bolt bin i keep stock w/ lots of differant sizes -the locking nuts are great & the flange heads are the cats meow !!! i used to work for a chassis shop & we always "cad " plated the narrowed rear axles housings -had lots of walk in lookers that thought they was "gold "plated ????

That hardware is real nice ghalperin. At the time I'm a slave to the original hardware, but yeah, those are super.

Last week I got all my parts back from Arrow Plating. I've been busy putting my truck together. They did a great job. I only had on minor issue, I had them plate my rusty radiator mounts and the bead blasting killed them. It was my own fault, I know that you shouldn't bead blast rusty sheet metal, if you don't want the pits to be craters. I could post a photo, but it just looks like new shiny nuts and bolts.

That's a relief to hear the report card on Arrow Plating's work. Even though they have been fantastic for me for years, when I recommended them and you spent some real coin using them I was fingers crossed that everything turned out up to your standards. It's a shame folks can't go there in person. They are real nice folks.

Although not a closeup, here are the U-bolts, washers and nuts, spring cups and the diff cover bolts. Plated hardware really help it look finished.
