Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
Thanks all for correcting my lack of effort on what goes out the door at BP engines.
I've been looking at big block engineson their website, everyone has a "Blueprint" cast into the block at the top near where the intake sets. Stormin, what are your plans for crank case ventilation??? |

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
Well I called and got a recording I guess they dont answer e-mails.
You know what? I think I will just wait and save for the Chevy Performance SP350 357HP Crate Engine 19367080. They're in Texas anyway.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
i have a cast aluminum angled breather similar to the link, it is painted black and will mount on the outside of the pass valve cover right between the bolts.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
That will let air in, but you need a place to connect a PCV valve on the other side of the engine.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
i am debating running check valves down into the exhaust...venting from the rear of the valve covers. otherwise, a bung will be added to the driver side.

I've also thought about running one on the other side and running a PCV from it. THe breathers I have looked at are on www.mooneyesusa.com, under auto accessories. |

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
My plan is to go with the Blueprint engine. I'm in Iowa right now working to get money to finish this truck the way I want.
I was just looking further into this when i saw this thread. Yes the Blueprint engine.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
I didn't realize that. That engine should have a nice choppy/lopey idle but also a little low on vacuum.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
The LSA is slightly tight but the duration is mild he'll be fine with brakes IMO.

Which engine did you end up getting. Were you happy with your choice?

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
I went with the Blueprint 350/385. Vortec head, 1 peice rear main seal, roller cam & lifters. They have great proceedures to pre startup and I have had zero issues with it. Better quality than I expected for the price.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines
I just watched this video (plant tour and assembly) - https://youtu.be/Jzr2U8bGpvc
They talk about making they're own blocks, but I bought a seasons block.
