essentially. there is an additional box (throttle actuator control module) that the switches actually go to, and then that goes to the ECM |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
how much of the frame did you have to remove to use that tank?
I need a new tank and they are cheap so i would like to try my hand at that mod you made. |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
I used the sametank. Cut about a 1x20 piece from the bottom flange on each side of the frame.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
Last night I hooked up my cruise control. I also took the time to take a lot of pictures and do a write up of how to hook up the cruise. the How To thread is here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=398006 So today I took the truck out to get some pictures and test out the cruise. The cruise control worked perfect, just like factory Then the pictures. I thought I'd submit my truck for the TOTM, so wanted a little nicer pictures with a more interesting back ground: |

Wow, I've been gone too long! It looks badass, I love that color. I like the headlights too, I've wondered what they'd look like in our trucks

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
Thanks for the compliments everyone.
I keep a spreadsheet with a list of tasks and an estimate of how long it's going to take me to do each of them. This way I don't do something, and then have to go back and undo it, cause I need to do something else, I can get whatever parts I need, and have an idea of what I need to do. (can you tell I'm an engineer???) So tonight I managed to get "7 hours" of work done in only 3.5 hrs. I adjusted the doors and fenders a little, fully installed the inner wheel wells. It's probably not obvious in the pictures but some of the body lines and gaps aren't as nice as a show car should be. But since this is more of a cruise in / bracket racer / show car I think it's acceptable. Anyways, I wiggled stuff around a little and it looks better. I fought with the drivers side fender and fiber glass cowl for most of the time. The fiber glass cowl definitely leaves something to be desired in the fit department. I think if I knew how much of a PITA it would be I would have used a stocker or modified a stocker myself. But, the smoothed cowl definitely looks cool even if it doesn't fit the greatest.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
This is one epic life story of a thread right here!
Your truck is an incredible machine! I think you'll really dig that 5.3 with your LS6 intake, a 220/220 112 cam, and a nice 3600 stall torque converter! Really livens them up.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
Plugging away on it.
I managed to get the cowl to fit a little better. I had to cut out a little notch on it to clear the vertical portion of the driver side fender that it was resting on, preventing it from aligning with the fender correctly. Then I installed the wipers. Then last night I got the rear view mirror installed. I went with the older style that mounts to the cab roof, so I had to drill a couple of holes since my cab is a 72. I also started installing the dome light. It took me awhile to get the wiring ran from the dome light down the drivers side rear pillar. Also got my cigarette lighter wired up, (so now I can use it to charge crap since I don't smoke) A few small steps, but each one gets me closer to being finished. Hopefully this weekend I will start on my custom kick panel speaker enclosures and start installing the Old Air A/C system. |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
cool. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Old air setup as I'm considering it in my next project.
