Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Was able to get a few mores things wrapped up today. I had it tuned and ended up having 1 bad O2 sensor and replaced it and then got back to work on the interior.

Pic #1. Console finished with shift boot.

Pic #2. The door panels finally done and the seats installed.

Pic #3. another shot of the seats.

I also shot a couple videos but am having issues with computer not reading things or something.. anyways will try with the phone.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. This was my first attempt at welding aluminum with the new TIG unit. (not my best welds but it came out ok.

Pic #2. All mocked up, will remove all pieces and get them prepped for paint.

Pic #3. The remaining pieces of Interior are wrapped up.

Pic #4. Shot of it after another test drive.

Pic #5. The GMC made it's debut last night at our local cruise in.
The remaining project is the wood and then it is ready to go home...

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Small update from over the weekend, On Saturday I finally got started on the bed wood.
Should be able to have it finished up this week so it can be picked up.

Pic #1. The wood in mockup stage. Once the fit is how I want then I will remove so it can be stained. (the color is called bombay mahogany) it is a dark stain with a cherry-ish hue to it. Should really pop in the sun with the blue.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

The last item on the list was the bed wood and tailgate.

Pic #1. The wood stained and strips installed. It did come out darker than I really wanted. I sprayed 2 coats the night before and came in yesterday morning and sanded to make it nice and smooth followed by it's 3rd coat making it a shade darker. In the sun it's does show through.

Pic #2. A different angle.

Pic #3. The tailgate was installed and ready to go...

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thank you everyone for checking out this build, and for the compliments!

The current builds as of today are the FJ40 (in progress) and the 38 chevy
both are in the shop and will get back to them.
I would also like to get Orangepeel back in the shop but would like to get one of the others done and out first!

Dad..A big thank's to you allowing me to utilize the shop and being there when I need you. And setting the bar on building cars!
