Re: 67 long box
Thanks I've tried to put some really cool ideas in it and make it look like it could of come this way from factory.

Re: 67 long box
A little rework on the stereo top add a couple of tweeters up in the corners by the visors. Not too visible but adds just enough.

Re: 67 long box
Thanks, All my custom fab work is done on this table, 22" x 33" x1" with machined surface. A friend made it for a guy but he never picked it up. All the corners are perfect 90 deg., precision ground flat top. I welded some legs on it, made hangers for my tools under it, welded a piece of 1/4" plate in the middle underneath to attach a ground cable so I keep the top clear. I have two 1/2 " bars welded on top to bend round or flat bar. I don't have any fancy tooling machines, it's all by hand. I traded him a case of beer for it and it has been the best for all the work I've done. A flat square surface to weld on, make jigs, brake on the edge and not a monster table. I can move it, drag it, to where I'm working.

Re: 67 long box
1" thick woah I bet that thing weighs a lot I would be tempted to add braking wheels to it to make it easier to move around.

Re: 67 long box
I found the original choke pull for a 67. Looks better with the right handle.

Re: 67 long box
I was out to a couple more shows last night and today. 85 today with it feeling like 100, I cranked up the A/C and enjoyed the ride. I even won a trophy today. Life is good when your own hard work shows.

Re: 67 long box
Almost hard to believe I did my first oil change on it since I did the rebuild on the truck. 3500km already or 2200miles on it in just over 6 months of Canadian life and loving every minute. I found a power steering box and I can't wait to get it put in, this manual steering is way to hard for city driving.

Re: 67 long box
Just went through the entire thread.... Outstanding job! Your metal work is fantastic. I'll be happy if mine turns out half as nice.

Re: 67 long box
Thanks I have put a lot of work into it and it has very challenging, but the reward has been totally worth it. I drive it all the time and enjoyed the hard work I spent building.

Re: 67 long box
I just went through my build and would definitely hire me to do all my work. LOL I've done a crap load of work and done a nice job for an almost old guy.

Re: 67 long box
I picked up a 5 speed nv3500 for the truck, the 3 speed sucks on the highway and too hard on fuel. More winter work, tranny, power steering, engine rebuild, maybe fitech fuel injection, and an extra fuel line.

Re: 67 long box
thanks for sharing your skills and ideas.
42 is not "almost old". wait until you're almost 53. i was just visiting SK at Bright Sand and really enjoyed the cool nights. sure beats the Texas heat and now a hurricane! what's next?

Re: 67 long box
Thanks but I'm 48 and starting to feel old, but I haven't grown up yet. Get everything up off the garage floor for water control.

Re: 67 long box
Lots of hours spent driving it and having fun. I just turned over 5000km since it was on the road last year. I took a break to build my wife some wall art for her new salon/tattoo business. 1950 Pontiac dash to add to the 50's theme along with other 50's memorabilia. Staying busy and collecting parts for the winter upgrades.

Re: 67 long box
I have a '67 Chevy C20 Long Bed Camper Special. Here are a couple early pictures. Enjoyed your build. I'm rebuilding/repairing all ground-up but leaving blue patina on truck. Already did most rust repair and changed-out to disk breaks in front from 69 GMC 2500, and rebuilt Eaton H-52 differential, etc.... Thank you for sharing.
