Well....what is the answer (hoping for an easy fix for you).

This is making me nervous to replace the body mounts, rust repair and also R&R the w/s frame.

Why thank you young man, great way to enjoy retirement...hope your build runs smooth. All we ask is that you post up lots of pics of your build Sorry for all the BS that was in there, just a bunch of guys messing around! I started the thread with the intention of showing the young men what could be accomplished in their own garage...no major tools, other then a compressor and a mig

Well, after getting off the phone with VTBlazer, his measurements are differant than mine! It seems to be pointing to the body mount outrigger thingy, since this part is high, it won't allow the floorboards to sit down far enough for proper adjustment. Really my fault on reassembly, just missed it!

I may have to pull off the rocker cover for reinstall, but we will see. The body mount outrigger will need some attention, to allow it to drop down further and bring the floor with it

Don't let this SNAFU scare you off, this was something that could have been avoided, and is fixable without tearing the floorboards out...I THINK! Plus you will have all of us looking over your shoulder to help you out at any time. Look how VT stopped what he was doing to come to my aid. So it goes with all board members...we are here to help each other out. No one wants to spend money for someone else to do the work when you can do it yourself, look at all the fun I've been having Spend your money on parts, not labor
Even if you do mess up, all you lose is a couple bucks and your time, which is spent down in your workshop and that is a good thing!
Pics to follow

Tomorrow I get to bolt up a big shiny new part

Re: PO has me PO'd

Thanks Ariz., working on the motivation, but this old girl has fought me every step of the way Seems like she doesn't want to be gussied up

Next project is finding a 1 ton 2 speed rearend

Yeah, I know I have to adjust my headlights

Since I have NOS van lights I have to make up a bracket. You can see why my headlights are out of adjustment

Horn wire is the last of the plug and play for this side...problem is the PO had 6 horns mounted down there. Gotta find out what is stock

One tons aleast on the rear end, someday I may switch over to a Dana 60 on the front...but then I would have to change my name

Can't say that I was there, should've been...wife wants to go to the Marine Corps Ball. My Brother is going to the one at 3rd and I this year

Tun Tavern no longer exists, having burned down in 1781. Its original location is now occupied by Interstate 95. The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia contains a Tun Tavern-themed restaurant with a lunch menu and alcoholic beverages and bread pudding.

Re: PO has me PO'd

same boat. a guy painted my father-in-law's 70 truck in like 97 or 98. My 69 rusted so bad the cab was sitting down around the mounts. I tried for years to buy the 70 from my brother-in-law. He finally gave me the truck and I thought I had something by running my hand along the bottom of the rockers and visually checking, eyeballing. Brought it home and in the same boat as you, the guy overlayed the rockers. Tons of work now. Scott

Re: PO has me PO'd

well, got the electric rad. fan running, man does that Jeep /Chrysler fan blow/suck

Kinda Rube Goldberg, but I have to get a new fan shroud anyway. M&H did it again, just hooked the black and blue wires up, and grounded the temperature wire out, put the key in the on position and success. Removed about 2 inches from the shround, where the fan mounts up

I may change where M&H broke out the wire, right now it comes out up at the rad. bracket. I think that it would be cleaner if I break it out down by the relay. I'll call them Monday and see if they mind

Door looks good! So does that side shot of the half top. What did you have to put under your mounts to get her to line up?

I've got to get a new garage door on mine too, the spring broke last year and me or the boy are the only ones that can open it now. Oh well, another project to put on the back burner. Might get some of it done during the xmas stand down.

Red, not sure if I understand your question, but it sits on the bedside just like the hardtop does

Amazing how heavy a garage door is, isn't it? Enjoy the R&R with the family
