Re: The Project Havoc....

oh whell , there basicly isnt any welding permitted to the carrying parts of a frame here in the netherlands , do that and youre going to need to get a new single car aproval and get a new licenceplate for the car
there where some smart people here that got out from under the roadtax by building new 4 door carrosseries on old landrover and mercedes G car frames and use the licence from that frame (our vinnumbers are stamped in those frames not in the cab ) now they changed the rules a little and to keep that old vinnumber the car needs to consist at least ...eeeeeeh i think it was 80%out of the old car (frame engine carroserie and drivetrain are measured by percentage ) so that took the air out of those sails too

if its going to cost them money there pretty quick in changing the rules

other example : grey licence , this was made for companycars they where in a lower roadtax the rules where no rearseat and a flat loadfloor but not only companies started to drive those cars so they chanced the rules : no more rearwindows and quarterwindows alowed and there was a certan mold that needed to be places up straight inside the loadspace , this worked some and there where strainge bulges starting to apear on normal cars to deal with this
after that the grey licence was only alowed if you where registered as a company and had a special aproval , and all of a sudden those cars became worthless overnight because after they sell them they have to pay normal roadtax for those lumpy cars without backwindows

Re: The Project Havoc....

So, it has been one heck of a year. I realize that I have hardly been on here and feel very guilty for this. However. After the camaro was finsihed, i did a lot around the house and worked on other things. I beat the H#LL out of Havoc. Found hardly any weaknesses in her. The wife and I had another kid @ months ago. His name is Bentley William James> So awesome!! I have decided now that I am gonna start working on Havoc and get some permanent bodywork done on her. Start this winter. Just a bit at a time. I got to finish the Swiss cheese car right away. So much to do! Oh well .All is great in the north up here. Loving life and making things happen, either with friends or family or work. In the grand scheme of things it all works out. I will try to comne on here som more than usual now. I got some really cool pics of some vehicles no. Been getting heavily into taking pictures now,. Nice easy habit of mine. Later guys

Re: The Project Havoc....

Congrats on the kid, nickname Bent Billy, and glad to here you have had the truck out and about. I guess you took care of the licensing issue you had. Looking forward to the swiss cheese build or anything else you do. I can't thank you enough for the help you gave me on my build. You should see it now. I didn't spray it myself but did all the bodywork an the painters said it was a very nice job and was nice and straight. Thats where your advice showed up in the final results. Thanks again.

Yes, It took about 8 months to sort out things with the Nazi gov't, but they did get worked out, we are still working on a few issues with the car building community now. I hope all goes well. They realized that my truck was ok to be on the road. I had to fix a couple minor issues they were concerned about. tinted front windsheild, (hehe) lights, basically they had never seen a truck as modified as mine and had to make sure that everything was A-OK for them. I wish that things went better but it is what it is. I just know now what to watch out for and they realize that their rules are very grey and as a insurance company and a person, things have to be worked out, rules more clear in other words. But I sure did stir up the industry, holy crap!!

Re: The Project Havoc....

Got the Ididit column in, Got a dakota digital gear selector and indicator in, a dirch elcheapo wood floor installed and just today I picked up some gonna be inner fenders for her. Can not wait. I am getting exicited once again to work on her. That last year took a dive on me with her. I got away from everything i was so frustrated, so hopefully now I can concentrate on a few other things. But first I have to finish up swiss cheese, get my pitster bike going, my quad, then finish up a Cafe Racer that I am doing and sell it. Plus the total loss vehicles that I do on the side for a few extra dollars.
