Re: How Many 4 Wheel Drive Blazers Do We Have?

Just got my first K5 a month ago. Was mostly stock with a 3" body lift and 35" swampers. Been working none stop on this with parts and pieces I have had tucked away here and there. And yes, been buying things as well. Can not get any pics to load, still trying.
72 K5 with 70 grill
eaton, dana 60, 4:56's locked
355, 4spd, 205
6" spring lift with body lift
38 x 15 boggers

here is my brothers ochre 4x4 and my black one. been working none stop for the last 2 months on the black one to get it to a car show that happened last weekend. completely redone the interior a few patch panels on the body, rocker panels, welded in a new dash, new windshield, and built a 327 to put in it.

Here is another, my first Blazer, not the prettiest but someday when I make it back from Japan and actually see it in person for the first time I will begin working it over. I like all your Blazers guys!

Re: How Many 4 Wheel Drive Blazers Do We Have?

OK, mine is done enough that I can finally add it to the thread.

Maiden voyage 11/7/09 - I put 250 miles on her that weekend and then it's back to the shop.

Fuel pump needs to be moved further down the frame rail so it's not working so hard trying to pull gas.

Front and rear bumpers to be fabbed and a winch added to the front.

Rock sliders and then start the interior.

But, it's far enough along that if/when we get good weather for a weekend...I can put it on the road!!

Re: How Many 4 Wheel Drive Blazers Do We Have?

Here is our daily driver/family hauler. 74,000 original miles. Had one repaint about 10 years ago, at that time the original lower wood simulated moldings were removed. Otherwise it's all stock and unrestored.
I've found from people here the white with orange cloth interior was a highlander option. I've since bought new white with orange houndstooth seat covers through Chris (aka: Yellowblazer) from this site. Thanks Chris.
Gearing up for an LQ4/4L80E swap next for a little LS fuel injected power and overdrive cruising

Maybe I'll put the woodgrain moldings back on, I haven't decided if I prefer the clean look or not and whether I want to spend close to $800 for all of it or not. Maybe you guys can help me decide.

Thanks Chevyman63! Wish I could take some credit, but I bought her this way. Oh well, I still have a few plans for her! Lift and tires!

Cheers

Re: How Many 4 Wheel Drive Blazers Do We Have?

In case you didn't know, the 33's fit without the lift. That's what we did with ours. We have to climb in as is and didn't really want it lifted. With the 33's and stock ride height it actually has more ground clearance than I'll ever need anyway.

Nice blazer by the way. Can't believe all the blazers on here. I haven't seen one on the road in years it seems. They must all be hibernating on the board here

Re: How Many 4 Wheel Drive Blazers Do We Have?

Thanks Firebird,

Yeah I know the rubber will fit, but I want the clearance for possible 35's in the future. It probably won't see too much offroading, but I still like the lifted look. Do you have a pic of yours so I can see the stance?

Cheers
Pete

Your a fast typer, you beat me to it

You are right, as others have told me too, so far it's been, put the moldings back on. Guess I'll have to look into that and get it done. I'll have to start shopping around for a complete kit.

I think Mar-K has kits, as do Early Classic, and Brothers. I got a set from Brothers for my 68. Perfect quality, no complaints.

Makes a nice Xmas gift
