Re: Pic Request: teal/turquoise (stock color) trucks

Took awhile to find my GMC data book but heres the colors GMC used and the different two tone combinations they used. The terrace blue which is a blue green is pretty close to what I used, its the same as on my 66 Suburban. Hope this helps.

Re: Pic Request: teal/turquoise (stock color) trucks

I am having a hell of a time trying to find a paint match for my 1966 GMC. I just finished the repairs on both front-rear fenders with patch panels. They are primed and ready for paint.

The truck has been repainted at some point in time. With that color and type of paint, I have no idea.

I have been by a local O'Reilly's and they have scanned the fenders, but can only supply me with a base coat type of paint, that will need a clean. How will that work if I have to clear coat the fender patch spot and the rest of the fender is old single stage paint?

Can someone with experience, give me some guidance?

Here is the thread link with pics, Thanks

This or a slightly more green will be the colour of my truck in time..... regardless of what it looks like when I find the right truck.

Well, here's a picture of mine. Think this is more of a baby blue or sky blue color though.

Re: Pic Request: teal/turquoise (stock color) trucks

FYI----- www.autocolorlibrary.com select the make and year of your truck, wait for the search and voila you will have a color chip chart of the paint for your truck. Dietzler is now owned by PPG and you can purchase the paint in single stage, base coat, clear....etc.......it worked for me.

Is that a sliding side window on the shell or does it swing up?
Very unique.

Yes. A slider door. Manufactured by Gemtop specifically for a rampside pickup. I've never seen another example.

Thank you. I'm pretty excited about the whole setup (truck and topper) GM only made 2,475 of them and this one is completely original.

Not sure what color mine is.
It's going to change it as soon as I can, yuck.
I'm trying to finish up my Blazer then I will get to it.
It's a 66 and I think a 62 grille and lights.

Re: Pic Request: teal/turquoise (stock color) trucks

Here is a couple pictures of my 65. It had a complete color change about 13-14 years ago to 1957 Chevy Larkspur Blue.

In the shade it looks blue, in the sun light it looks green. It is just starting to show some bubbles in the usual 60-66 lower fender area's, but all in all it still looks decent. (looking for a rear sport bumper if someone close has one available PM me.)

My '62 SWB with 283 & T5

More rust than anything but it's the original paint.

Re: Pic Request: teal/turquoise (stock color) trucks

Glad to see this thread still moving along with new additions, but it looks like some of the pics are gravitating toward light green/green shades instead of the teal/turquoise the thread was intended for.
