Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Ya I have had bad luck with AIM or Chassis Tech spindles. I'd rather not put any low end parts on his truck, especially suspension wise. He can't really work on the truck himself, so I don't want him to have ANY issues with the suspension. I'd like him to just come to me for the regular maintenance stuff too, like draining the tanks and re-torquing bolts, etc.
And my cost on BellTech spindles is too small of a difference to even consider AIM spindles IMHO.

Wow this is a great thing to do for the kid! Could we get some more pictures of the interior and exterior?

Hey Seth, when did you want me to bring this stuff to you? I can hold onto it for as long as you need, so no big deal.

How about you come down once the truck is in the shop, and then we can go over some ideas.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
I see the updated list notes you got the bumpstops. I was out of town this past week & went by my storage today to make sure I still had them. Sorry about the delay. Glad you found some.
I also checked on the spindles (I had 2 sets @ one time). One set is still on my car in storage (Malibu) & another set I donated to a co-worker who's building up a little S-10 for his kid. I will be swapping the spindles on the Bu for different ones but I can't confirm it will be within the next month. I'm not sure what brand they are. They could be B.Techs or AIM's. I do know I've had them since the early 90's on multiple Malibu's w/o any issue. If your still interested, how soon do you need confirmation?

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Just let me know when you can. Once the truck is in the shop, I start the back first. So if you don't know by then, I will just order some Belltechs at that time.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Hey Twisted, I just ran across this thread but saw the grill. That grill fits the 91-94's, so it would take different fenders and a updated core support to swap it over.
What are the needed parts now? I might have a few extras laying around from my blazer. |

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Twisted when is the truck going in the shop? I'll need to take the parts off my 64. I got 2 blowjack 150psi guages. They are duel needle, with 4 rocker switchs. Let me know if you still need them. I'll send what little fittings I have too!

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
I got one Airlift or ViAir gauge sent to the shop. Can't remember which, but I'd like to get one more that matches that. They aren't that $$.
And it sounds like I have found someone to sponsor all the random fittings. I guess different fenders and core support then? Lol.

I wish that I had something that you needed. I think that it's awesome that you guys are doing this for that kid. I hope that you have a smooth and easy going build.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Twisted, after looking through my LMC I made a mistake, it's just the core support you need, the fenders should work.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
The fenders looked pretty much the same to me. Good to know. Someone else told me you can just move the headlight holes on the older core support? Sounds easy. I will try to find a 91 and up core support though. Seems like it would be easier.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
I put the new style full phantom in an older dime years back, I know I didn't replace any major panels but I can't remember what exactly I had to do to make it work.

Re: S10 build up for kid with Epilepsy
Okay we have a bunch of parts for him now. But he is still under budget and can't afford the rest of the parts needed to do his truck yet.
I brought home the list of parts this truck still needs. ~ Airline ~ Compressors ~ Valves 3/8" ~ 3" Red Prothane Bushings (3 sets) ~ Bump Stops (The set we received one was split in half and isn't really usable) ~ Red Limit Straps (Can't really order until suspension is started) ~ Drop Spndles ~ Tube adapter and misalignments from Ballistic
