What's the mechanical condition of the truck?
Are you going to blow it completely apart and refresh it or are you going to inspect and fix what's needed and leave the rest of it alone?
Thanks Brian... well if I were waiting on the body shop to paint it I am sure two things would not have happened... First the tire time to paint would not be done for probably a few more weeks... then when they did get it painted it would not be as straght and perfect as we have it...

Mechanically this truck is sound so we are going to roll with it as it is... this fall my son is going to yank the motor and Trans for me, clean it, paint it and stick it back in... He will also finish hooking the A/C UP...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Ok... here you go... We took the Weekend off and went to Grand Lake for some relaxation and look for a Cabin to buy... We didn't find a cabin but we did get rested up...

We got the doors assembled and the door panels to the upholstery shop to have a Roll & Pleat done to them... Paint on the cab is color sanded and Glazed... So here is what it looks like as of 5:00 Pm today 7-20-15...

This color was picked because my wife's favorite color is lime green... I have to say it looks good on this truck... I wanted more like a Cobalt Blue...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Well this weekend was somewhat eventful... Welded the stake pockets in and we were able to take a few hours off of work and we were able to weld the stake pockets in and rough in body work done on the drivers bed side and a little the right side top bed rail...

I am suppose to get a bed floor patch panel mid week and hopefully the body shop will have enough time to get it welded in before Friday...

We are pretty busy with work this week and have to work next Saturday morning but we are going to try and get the right bedside body work completed... then next Sunday I will take the truck to my son and he will start working of finishing up getting the A/C working properly...

We are taking off to Yellowstone soon so the truck will sit until we get back and settled down...

This project is taking way longer than I wanted it to take but we are getting there...

Lookin' good, Dan! I know work sometimes interferes with our real "raison d'etre" but they don't give away truck parts for free, so ya gotta live with it.

Dan,
Sorry on the bed floor... I'll be home Wednesday. It's tough trying to work and get everyone's stuff taken apart. I should have dropped it off at your house. Then you could take it apart. Lol

Hey Jake... It isn't going to be a show truck but I really like for my stuff to look good going down the road... So it really doesn't take more than a few more hours to make it really straight so it is all My wife and I's labor so money becomes a non issue to make it look right... Thanks for the complement...

Mike it is no worries... Please don't stress over it... if it doesn't get done this week then it can wait until we get back from Yellowstone... After talking to you today I would say you have plenty on your plate... I just won't paint the bed until we get the floor completed... Thanks for all you do for us that build these trucks... We were out at Tim's House this last week and he told me the Air Force is sending him to Virginia ( I Think it was Virginia) for 20 months... Then he said he is retiring... You and him will be away from families...

I know I know... but I set deadlines and I hate missing deadlines... unfortunately when you have to rely on body Shops to do their thing just slows the process down... I should have just said screw it and went and Bought a Miller Mig and done it myself...

When trying to make tight deadlines like I did, things just have to work the way they are suppose to...

The good news is now that the deadline has been blown, I don't give a crap because the car show season will be over by the time it gets completed... So we are just relaxing a bit more and rolling with whatever happens...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

We are working on getting the bed finished up this weekend... It is fighting us all the way... Spent the entire day on one bedside and it still isn't ready for paint and I still have to much to do to the right side before it is ready and before I can even attempt to look at working the left side... We were hoping to have both sides completed today and in primer ready for the final blocking tomorrow but that isn't going to happen... I am going to get up about 5 tomorrow , have a couple cups of coffee then to the garage hopefully I can get it ready tomorrow for the final primer...

We really needed to paint it this weekend because "Raymond" needs to come home next weekend and will consume the garage... I guess Raymond will have to wait another week to come home...
