Okay after some trial and error and error and error, I think I have the tank close to where I want it.



I put the bed frame on to help me with the height and placement. New steel and bolts were from GMCPauls.



I cut both back crossmembers out, here is the pic of the second to last brace.



I still need to fill in some rubber so the metal does not rub.

My frame was tweaked a little, droping one side about 1/2" lower than the other in the rear. I used a flat piece of 1/4" steel to brace it back up and then slid the tank to the steel.



I will have to modify the steel piece in order for the inside back bumper bracket to work. I will also fab some hinges for the tank straps and mount them to the steel piece.

As you can tell I gained quite a bit more space by moving the tank back.

Looks like there may be enough room for the panhard now. Nice work. I would like to see some more pics of it from the rear.

I did gain alot of space but I am still gonna have issues with the panhard bar. I would be glad to get those pics for ya. Thanks for looking

Got the straps welded on.

I must say first that I completely unashamedly stole this mounting idea from Rokcrln. The major difference is that his looks about 1000x's better than mine. But I did get it to work.
I took 1/2" tubing and put a 3/8" bolt through it with a lock nut on the end. Took a small piece of 3/16" steel and welded it to the hinges.




I took the original blazer straps, cut off the ends and welded one end to the middle hinge piece and a 8" long 5/16" carriage bolt on the other.



Then took some 1/8" strap, fabbed and welded it to the back new crossmember



Make sure everything lines up...



Ready for a test fit

Got the tank in and fitted, everything seems to fit pretty good. I now need to put something between the metal and the tank to keep them from rubbing. I have some wide nylon strap, I wonder if that would work or just put felt back on it.
Any suggestions?

Man, it has been awhile since my last update... if I would stop changing my mind and redoin' stuff things would go alot faster. lol

Anyway, I am test fitting the engine. LQ4 with the #2 adapters the are shown on glock's thread. The only problem is in order to keep the A/C in the factory location you have to trim the passenger adapter plate (also on glock's thread) and move the motor mount back. Then take the frame tower (these are original 6 cyl towers on the rear holes) and add 2" toward the rear and drill a new hole to attach the motor mount, the hole we drilled is 1 3/4" from the original.

Well, I kept tripping over this thing in the garage and lo and behold it was a truck!!!

Actually, I took the gas tank out and replaced the original bracing, I just did not like how low it hung below the frame, and then I replaced all my springs with some a little looooower.

Are you planning on running A/C on your truck? Will you be able to install and remove the compressor with this setup? Looks great! where did you score the TBSS manifolds?

Yes I am running A/C in the factory location, I can acutally bolt the compressor and bracket on this set up just the way it sits, I will bolt it on and send you a pic to see if you like it.
I got the manifolds from TBSSowners.com, the guy gave them to me free, I just paid shipping. ($30) Some people over there try to sell them for $100 bucks but some will just give them away. As a matter of fact, I had two different guys that I contacted about giving me their manifolds, if your interested I will give you the name of the person with the other set. LMK
