Re: Factory Rear Swaybar Hard to come by

how thick are these rear bars? the biggest rear bars out there (Hellwig, CPP, etc) are 1-1/8" which sounds like a good size for a Suburban running a 1-1/4" on the front.

Re: Factory Rear Swaybar Hard to come by

These factory rear bars will work with a rear that has been flipped (flip kit)?

Interested for my Sierra if you don't have another buyer lined up (stock suspension currently but will probably end up with a slight lift later this year). Price with shipping to 48327? Thanks,

Wayne

Re: Factory Rear Swaybar Hard to come by

Ya got me wondering if this would work on a lifted 4X4 by putting the mounts on top of the rear springs......

I have thought about this as well, mainly on trucks that have u-bolts that straddle the axle tube and not the spring pack. It miiiight work, but I think a spacer would be required to keep the bracket from contacting the leaves. Thinking about the curvature of them, which would be working against you in this case, it might take 3/4-1" of spacer for clearance which is going to introduce a whole new set of forces and stress into the u-bolts. I wish I had snagged one of the sets of sway bars from the Wrecking Yard I worked at...

Another thing I thought of, DRW truck spring centers are narrower than SRW truck spring centers. I want to know if some intricate combination of flips and turns will make this work on a SRW truck.

Not just the dually's that have the narrow spring width, but all 1-ton models (SRW and DRW). Should be 40.5", versus 42.5" on the 10 and 20 series trucks...

Hope this helps,

Joe

I can add that my K20 has the 40.5 as well.

Good point, 67-72 models may have used the narrow spacing across the board. I know my Dad's '68 is 40.5"...

Here is the current bar I have for sale. I do have the u bolts and axle cradles if needed. Normally I don't include these just to save the weight.

Do you still have the sway bar pictured for sale? If so how much would it cost shipped to 45066 with the U-bolts and axle cradles?
