Re: 69sinkers build 69 cst ls swap

Got it ready to shoot in the morning. Nearly 100 today and didn't want any sweat drips. Spent the rest of the day sanding and painting trim.

Truck is looking good! I know how disheartening it is to see truck sink into pond, have seen it myself.

Re: 69sinkers build 69 cst ls swap

Hey thanks! Spent a lot of the day putting on trim and bumpers. Got all the hard to reach trim on. Emblems are a total pain to get to even with the inner fender wells off. Hopefully these pics are right side up!

Re: 69sinkers build 69 cst ls swap

I was looking at your plexiglass cluster cover and an idea hit me.
Keep the plexiglass but have an aluminum trim piece milled to encompass the outside edge and you can have it be any shape you want it since it will be custom made.
You could even have it anodized black, chromed or simply polish it.

Re: 69sinkers build 69 cst ls swap

I've got a few months off of work for the winter, so it's time to work on my truck again.
I put about 4000 miles on it since August with no major issues. I've got a list of things I plan on doing this winter:

Instrument cluster bezel
Center console with audio/video/navigation system
Exhaust H or X pipe
Adjust body lines (raise cab 3/8")
Repaint exterior trim
Custom fuel door
Install a/c
Drop the truck down a few inches
Eaton posi

And I'm sure there will be a lot of others.

I havent checked in with your build in a while. You got quite a bit done in a short amount of time. Love the dash bezel. Curious what seats you have in there. Do they stay under the rear window or are they visible from behind the truck.

Thanks, I actually just finished up the interior/dash today, Ill have to post some pics when this 12" of snow melts so I can pull it outside.
The seats are from an 05 impala. I removed the headrests, tapered the backs and then had them recovered, the top of the seats are below the rear window.
Ive been checking in on your build also, Ill be watching for more progress. Dave

Thanks, the body was really straight and didn't need much rust repair. It seems like body work and rust repair take more time than anything on a restoration.

Looks like your build is really coming along.
