Not a joke....was trying to make a show so I needed a tailgate. I ordered a new re-pop. Looked at did the body work but never mounted it.
Get everything ready to assemble the day before the trip. Had 8 guys working on different areas. I told my FIL to assemble the bed but dont scratch it. He said I wont but I will hang your tailgate upside down as a joke....sure enough go to mount it and it is stamped upside down.

Got lots of question at the show. Now it hangs on the wall of he shop as a reminder slow down and pay attention

hahaha!! that's awesome. I've ridden in a Caddy with horns, but never an old pickup. "Me So Horny" bumper sticker might be in your future.

I think I would leave it on the truck, I think it's cool.

Actually, I was planning on using a stock tailgate. (I've got a rusted out tailgate that's where I'm pulling the letters from.) That way you see the lettering at both the front and back of the bed.

But now that you mention it, a clear gate would be pretty cool....

But a little more on it, I'm hooking up an air compressor and that lower part of the box that will sit between the frame rails will either hold the air tank or the battery. I'm going to plumb up and be able to hook up air tools to that tank mounted either in the box or under the bed.

I really believe in a "theme" with a truck or car build. If it's basically a stock appearing truck like I see in your build than I don't think it would fit the "theme". You it makes no sense to have a piece of modern art hanging on the wall of a victorian home full of antiques, you know what I mean? I dig the modern home with all modern furniture and art but I also dig the 50's home full of fifties art and furniture, but mixing them just makes it "ho hum".
