Yep Bob... we local guys should get together for a cold one or a Timmies. (translation for those that aren't familiar: a Tim Horton's coffee).

Your show plaque looks good. I actually went back to the beginning of your thread this morning to refresh my memory of all the good work you've done. You should be proud of all the accolades you're getting... and will get once you start getting out on the road.

Good job man!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So when I got home from work yesterday Adam (PETTS Pinstriping) was still working on laying some lines on the front of the truck. This is what he got done so far.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Then I got to work and wired up my overdrive off sw, trailer brake controller, line lock and running board lights. This is what I did with the thumb lights I got. they are just in front of where the door opens. The list is getting really short.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Got home last night and pulled the truck outside to finish up some stuff. Wrapped the main power cables in heavy spiral wrap. Put my center and passenger seat in for the first time since inter-er is done. Made and installed some battery hold downs. Installed the turbo timer, that keeps the motor running for a set time. Put foam tape on the inner fenders to seal the upper and lower parts. All that's left is to tie up some wires under the drivers dash and check everything is tight. Maybe cut some carpet for floor mats.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So Saturday after lunch when everyone showed up I drove my truck around the block for the first time EVER. It has not even been to the end of my driveway. My friend Joe was first passenger. In total I put 30 miles on the truck Saturday and got it up to 60mph.
Here is the vid
http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psxgu5ys6d.mp4

After we came back, I drove past everyone and went the other way around the block and stopped to get fuel.
http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psclzcmqmj.mp4

The truck is running so good. It drives so smooth way better than I was expecting. The only problems I had was a small oil leak (now fixed) and the transmission is shifting into the next gear way to soon (better now after playing with the program) So Saturday evening we went to a local coffee shop where guys with old cars and bikes go and hang out. Not many there but it was a great drive 5 min away. It was a great 39th bday!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

For sure I did a first rollout burnout!!
http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psncnazjwp.mp4

Then on Sunday I went for a drive in the country to bed in the front brakes and had Joe follow me just for safe measure. Then did a sweet burnout.
Once I get the transmission shifting right they should get even better because it is in second by the time I let go. Oh and I saw 8psi of boost, till I turn it up that's good for now. So far VERY HAPPY!! Drove a total of 45 miles so far.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

very cool, congrats. Glad to see your hard work paying off. Just in time for the season. I was very surprised on how smooth my bagged 49' rode. I'm planning on bagging my first truck this winter cause I can't stand the static drop anymore. burnouts are wicked.
