Nice details in the Cab, the rear bumper is great.
I'm also looking forward to moving mine, it will take a while.
Thank you sir, I decided to adjust the carb and check the timing. I got the carb running better and the timing was a little off so I set that. I drove Sanity to the local monthly C10 get together and it's running very nice, now. The rear bumper is a 68. I personally like the later bumpers., They just look like they belong.I modified the license pat holder to appear it's floating. Just for fun, I added the original license plate frame from the dealer when new. I'll probably change it eventually. I'm also working on back up lights as the new bed sides did not have the holes for them.

Hi TJ, it is a great feeling to be driving my Sanity after all these years.
Another thing Is I have a body and paint guy lined up to paint Sanity while we're in Portland for 6-8 weeks in June and July

Re: pdx-sanity66

I've been driving the truck trying to get a few more miles on it before I do a fluid change on the trans and an oil change I've got break-in oil in the engine and I want to take out the temp break-in filter in the trans and I want to get the trans temp sender installed and get my temp gauge operating.
The truck is running very well now and I'm having a blast driving it. I've also been working on the dreaded side window fuzzies. Ugh!!

Thanks Joe. I'm having a blast driving Sanity after all these years and it's running real good.
I've slowed down a bit on Sanity right now. It's going in for paint in June so there's not a lot of things left to do until then. I have worked on the bed sides that had 4 or 5 quarter to half dollar sized but very shallow dents in the front part of the bedside that I believe I did while aligning the bed, oops. I have one of the dent pullers that uses glue on tabs that hook up to a slide hammer. This worked great and I was able to remove the dents. I'm ready to spray some epoxy on the affected area and also spray the interior door panels that are also ready.

I'll be leaving for Portland in the middle of June with a stop off in Utah to visit my brother and sister on the way back. While we're gone, Sanity is going in for final block sannding and PAINT. I will be getting progress pictues while I'm gone so I'll try to post some. Stay tuned.

Re: pdx-sanity66

We're back from our annual trip up north to Oregon. Sanity is in getting final blocking and paint. I'm going to start on the bed wood finishing while the truck is gone. The heat wave we're having in Tucson is slowing things down. 110+ degrees and monsoon rains. I can get in a couple of hours in early in the morning before the heat sends me into the house and the AC.

Re: pdx-sanity66

While the truck is out being painted, I have started on the bed wood. I got all of the holes drilled and I'm setting up to start sanding. Another HOT weekend coming up, so my work time is limited. I really need to get some AC in the shop but that's not going to happen for a while.

Re: pdx-sanity66

Man, I am with you on the heat thing. It is unbearable. My shop doesn't have AC either but it is at the top of the list. This summer I got hit with 'heat exhaustion', intense head aches, throwing up, 100 degree body temp. All the symptoms for 2 solid weeks. Be careful out there... its real and its dangerous.

Does beer count as forcing fluids? I know, just hoping.

Re: pdx-sanity66

It's going to be great, it's mighty warm where you are.
Here in northern Germany we had a lot of rain and a maximum of 20 degrees/ 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the last few weeks, today it's sunny and warmer.
I look forward to seeing your finished truck.

Re: pdx-sanity66

Thanks Harald, it's been tough getting things done. Today was the first day in a record 63 days that it didn't hit 100 deg. and a bunch of 110+ days. If I can get up by 6am I can get in a few hours. I am about ready to start applying the oil-based spar urethane over and over again with sanding in between. Now that I'm seeing the paint color I think the bed will look great (I hope).

Nice!!

The green is a little lighter than mine, just as you said some time back. I like it!

I'll still have the bed to finish an install plus some other stuff so I won't be going this year.

Thanks, it's been a ton of work and time. I just have to finish the bed and install it and I need to decide on AC real soon.
Here are a few more pics of progress. The right fender needs a repaint and the front bumper and grill are still at powder coat. Just a few more days.

Just a little update. The front grill and bumper are back from powder coating, and the fender repainted.
I'm hoping to pick Sanity up on Friday.

Thanks Clem, I love the color. It turned out just as I had envisioned. I'm looking forward to getting the bed finished up. The temperature down here has limited my time getting the urethane laid down. I've got 2 coats on so far.
My Sanity has come home. Now it's time to finish up a few loose ends to finish it up. The front grill insert "CHEVROLET" needs to have the background painted black.
