Alan you are still up? Just wondering why the silver paint first? Did you have to sand it again?

Yeah, I'm still up.

On transparent colors the base needs to be all one color. If not it will drive you crazy trying to cover it. This was base clear. I've even had problems with single stage not covering good. It seems like the spot (light or dark) will never go away. The painters at work told me about this trick if you don't have any sealer. If it's right or not I'm not sure, but it works. The sealer color for this orange is almost like primer gray.

Hey Alan! Comin' along great!! Wish I had 1/2 the space to do a full resto. About the header situation, I found these for my 305sb. for a reasonable price. Just another option.... I found them at car-stuff.com #H5668600
They fit great and have plenty of ground clearance..

Congrats on staying busy. Wish I had that option. My world consist of going to work and coming home. I don't get out much. What I'm getting at is I don't have a network people that knows what I do, other than those who read this thread.

I don't get out much either. Remember I walk only 90' to my shop. Me being busy could all end at a drop of a hat. I'm getting known by word of mouth. I've only lived here 4 years. I lived in the Ventura, Ca area since 1977 and knew a lot of people, and don't know very many people here. You need to get that truck done, and hit the cruise nights, and car shows. That will get you going. My 56 Belair got me lots of work. Too bad I had to sell it to finish my shop. It was my calling card. Now I have to get my truck done to help get the word out.

Thanks man, at day break it looked the same, just some dust. The main thing is there weren't any bugs doing the back stroke.

That's my plan. It will make a great calling card. I just hope I'm still able too work after this truck is on the road. I might be too old.

I forgot the headers they post aren't the header,s you will get. They dont have the right ones pictured, if you look back to the other post I sent you, it's those headers.

Hey Alan, looking good!!! About the headers, as another option for you, I used Summit G9014's. Smog header for 88-98, shorty. I had to weld up the O2 sensor port and they were tight on the drivers side, but I used the front position for the engine. In the back position you would have a little more clearance, I imagine. They turned out to be Pacesetter's.
