I'm diggin your shop-truck project.

Do you plan to leave the tool box on top of the rails like that? I like the idea of the box for hiding your req'd air stuff & for actual storage any truck needs but think it would look better flush w/the top of the bed sides. Again.... nice job.

yeah, its staying on top of the rails... at least for now. I personally like it this way.

here's one to ponder...

The look of the truck is to look like there was no concern with how the truck looks... ie: beat up work truck.

I understand what the track bar is doing in this application & yes it keeps it from pivoting on all 6 hinge points, but like I said it will shift side to side what little bit the 2 front bushings will flex

Its not a big deal, I was just curious

I get it & chuckled w/the mention of the pipe/ladder rack. I just never have liked the tool box on the rails thing. You like it, so that's what counts.

that track bar is probably not going to work, i tried that on my dually that i bagged with poly bushings, it even had a triangulated 4 link in it. i had to go to the
s.d. super pivot to get all the play out. it may work if you have enough room in the wells, my dually was tight in the fenders even after i narrowed the rear nine inches. good luck and love the design of the links.

Well guys.... 4:26 I am checking in. It still sits on stands. Running into a few issues with the exhaust flange bolts. And the wiring is still slow but steady. Plumbing is just about complete and assembly is pretty much done. Only 1-2 more solid days and it should be rolling.

Thanks for all the positive comments from yall. It helps in the push to get it completed.

The locator is solid. I about pushed the truck off the stands when I was checking it out. There is next to no movement side to side. The locator was designed on a buddy of mine's bubble top dragster. And its a rock solid set up. Again I wont know 100% until I get it out on the road and drive it. Also remember this is just a driver. It is not meant to be fast or handle like a sports car. It is ment to be tough and LOW. So I have no doubt in it at all.

(texastrendz) there should be no reason to have a locator bar on a triangulated 4 link. They may have been working against each other. But I wouldnt know without seeing the setup.

First it got 3" belltech spindles. Then removed Ball joints. 3" Bag pockets into LCA's, and pie cut the uppers. It lays on the control arm buckets now. Just barely. But enough that the cross shaft u bolts dont lay.

We pie cut them to make up for the ball joints binding.

And Ryan is going to post a "How-To" on how to pic cut the uppers in the next day or two.

damn, put me on the spot.

but seriously. I saw a thread on here about "pie-cutting" and it was made WAY more difficult then it needs to be. It took me all of 1 hr to do both sides... and it was somewhat time consuming on the side were we stopped and took pictures for a how-to.
