Thank you i appreciate it, I'm also wondering how it will hold up too, my dad used regular rattle can high heat on his exhaust and it flaked off within a year. I am hoping the por-20 lasts a little longer considering it was like $30 a pint.

Looks like a great project! I will follow along too. You are really knocking this build out.

Haven't posted in a while. Started working on the cab again. Had to replace 80% of the rear window channel. Tacked everything into place just need to have my brother Tig weld it for me.

Nice work on the tranny paint. I like that pan too. Should keep the fluid cooler than a standard pan.

My dad had it installed years ago on his Gmc but he has a ypipe that ran in front of the coolings tubes and it actually ran hotter cause of the heat from the exhaust. I won't have that problem with my dual exhaust.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Installed my Converter Lockup Wiring kit from TCI, installed my tranny pan and my Milodon Dipstick and swapped my 700r4 into the frame. Still have to drill new holes for my transmission crossmember as the 700r4 conveniently does not use any of the pre-existing tranny holes already in the frame.

I should have just left it alone and rocked the rust and patina and later on had a professional redo the body. I give big time credit to the guys that do this for a living.

Thankyou it's a shade off of my motor, I used duplicolor on the motor and vht on the tranny so i'll pick up a can of duplicolor and shoot another coat on it to get it to match the motor better.

Drilled new holes for my transmission crossmember and bolted it in. Then masked off the frame and repainted the trans to try to get it to match the engine better.

Thank you, sometimes I kick myself for not starting with a rust free truck lol, but when it's done I will have saved one from the bone yard.

It'll be a shame to cover up all that hard exhaust, frame, and paint work. Looks good I can't wait to see it finished up.

Wow now I'm really jealous, it took me 2 years just to do the front disk swap on mine. But i think time, space and funding is playing a big part of my lack of progress.

Lol i'm jealous of you, I wish I could drive my truck and have no clue when i'm actually going to be able to. Lack of time has definitely hurt my progress, I only have one day a week to work on her, plus my truck is at my brothers house that I have to drive 40 mins to get to because he has the space and well I have no space. I feel you on the lack of funding, the 1st year I had no money to put into this project, it has only been this past year that I have been able to splurge a little. Keep plugging away at yours, it will eventually be where you want it.
