first coat of lacquer on and sanded FLAT. 6hrs of driving and 2 trips to the paint store, 2-4 shades of green and know one can match the color. the doors and fenders have had some work done over the last 44years. straight green with yellowed clear spots. stay tuned sam. dash pad is being shipped from another member crsweet91. sent some nos fawn vinyl and my stock dash pad to ca. visors are out next. buddy's, door panels, dash, and visors will be off the same roll.

Re: Sauer's Garage builds

me too! but my buddy at the paint shop thought he would do me a favor and paint the door jambs too. then off to the sign guy who said he could strip the doors and camo in the old letters with my logo. the dupont guy's camera took a shot of the old paint and sent us a bad match. so off to the lacquer shop. another camera and not able to read in lacquer, mix original code and way to dark. ant tint and add and add and new quart and add.......... the truck had 4 shades of green and it drove me nuts! so here we are now, truck media blasted and primed. i have pics of every panel. should be able to mimic old patina and then re letter. torn now between new chrome and emblems of cleaning up the old stuff.

Re: Sauer's Garage builds

I feel your pain bro, sometimes things just get out of hand. Sam said it man, take that box of and have it powder coated while the truck is getting a nice new paint job. See...nothing to it.
