I'll answer for him since I use them too. They are rare earth magnets. About the strongest you can get. The ones he used here look like they are out of a hard drive too? They work great for getting your metal flush. Only problem I have with them beside pinching me if I get them too close together, when you try to tig weld around them it kinda messes up the arc.

Hey jlaird, mcbassin has beaten me to the punch. Yes they are hard drive magnets. They work well enough for placing the panels and are readily available at my work. I didn't see the need to purchase the welding clips.

Hey mcbassin, Thanks for great answer. You mentioned about it messing up the tig welding. I'm using a mig and haven't noticed any interference. How close is the welding to the magnets? I'll keep aware to see if it happen during the mig welding.

Thanks,
Justin

Justin,
I noticed it messing up the weld with the tig torch as soon as you get close, maybe an inch or so. I don't know if it had to do with the high frequency or not.

Keep up the great work!

This build is looking great! Just out of curiosity, what made you stay with leaf springs?

Hey jcaugmented, Thanks! As for the leaf springs, I kinda like the fact they make it slightly different than most other Chevy C10's. Thanks again for checking out my build. You build is very nice as well!! Nice job on the frame mods.

Thanks guys!!! Just got the cab into the garage today to do some body work. I will get some pics along the way. I've spent a lot of time the past couple weeks researching the forum for ways to do things, just trying to learn all I can... There is tons of info on here.
