Re: Solid paint Cheyennes and CST's

That BB 9' stepper makes me weak in the knees, I have a soft spot for
Longhorns as it is.
My '72 Cheyenne short stepper is a solid color truck, here's my SPID. The paint is silver.

That's not something you see everyday, a Cheyenne stepside 6 cyl! Cool truck!

Thanks 68350, I have a lot of folks tell me it's not a real Cheyenne, I just open the glove box and show 'em the proof.

More so when you consider its a shortbed, four speed with a chromed rear bumper and special paint. That was some guy's pet. Keeper!

It was med olive over dark olive conventional 2 tone instead of deluxe 2 tone. So if you're looking for examples you might want to see if there were also solid colored Supers in fleetside. I think I've seen solid Super stepsides.
Just realized I never posted the SPID sticker that he was referencing here. You can see the full size picture in my flickr album link in my sig:

Actually that SPID shows both the BX2 lower bodyside molding and the B85 upper or belt molding.
A quick check of my other 72 Janesville SPIDs show that Cheyennes with both moldings (as in with the optional B85) list both moldings on the SPID. But on the Cheyennes assumed to be lower only (std on a Cheyenne) no moldings are listed. Going to have to dig into that one more and find some additional 72 Cheyenne Super SPIDs from Janesville.

Re: Solid paint Cheyennes and CST's

Good to know, thanks Tim. I wasn't sure if it meant the upper was deleted or included. Obviously it went through a inside and out repaint at some point, so presumably the upper was deleted at that time.

I'm looking pretty seriously at a 71 Cheyenne Super LWB 2wd in solid Dark Olive. If I go check it out in person (or hopefully bring it home) I'll share some good pictures.

Word has it the truck isn't for sale but an acquaintance of mine is trying to wrangle a buy. I'm sworn to secrecy for the moment but wanted to share some pics.

Tim I don't have a solid Cheyenne but I do have a spid for my Cheyenne to add to your Janesville stash. It's the same format you mentioned above with the upper and lower moldings both called out. It always made me wonder why it called the lower out but after reading your comments above it makes sense now. if you'd like a picture of it I can post one.

Tyler, You have been reading a bit here! Posts 80 & 82 for those a little lost.
Thanks for the heads up on your Janesville Cheyenne also having both molding callouts, looks like a plant SPID variation at this point.
No need to repost as it is linked right there in your signature.
