it's been going on 6 years for this project. we already have a little girl so i'm not worrioed about finishing it before the new baby gets here. i just work on it alittle bit at a time when i can. it'll get done eventually i tell myself.

well took the wood flat bed off yesterday. i will be putting a modified 47 willysoverland pickup bo on my truck. befote anyone says anything remember i am on a tight budget and a friend of mine had the box laying around. he gave it to me so free is for me. i pulled the gas tank out of the truck to modify the sending unit for the out of tank pump that i will be using. got rid of the return line since i don't need it running a carb steup. i will hopefully have the box in a week or so it depends on when my friend gets his stuff out of it and gets it out of the hole it is burried in. i'll have to shoeten it a foot and a half since it is 7 feet and i need a 5 and half foot box for my truck. i am using a regular cab short box s10 frame. again the truck was dirt cheap so thats why i used the short frame. plus i was looking for a regualr cab short box. i waneted the shorter wheelbase it fits in my garage.

Dont apologize for the lack of funds or putting different parts other than stock. It will make an awesome build and leave people scratching heads. I love using whatever you got lying around to build with. I am working on my first real ground up build with a 50 gmc and am going the inexpensive route also. The best part is when I get done I can look at it and know everything thats in it and feel good about doing it myself.

well got my fuel sending unit modified to use an external fuel pump specificaly for a carb. por 15 the tank and put the sending unit back in. mounted the air tank behind the seat in the cab. it was the only place to put it. i don't want to get rid of the spair tire i see a lot of guys put their tank there. worked of the wiring yet again to get the little odds and ends done.

well got the truck out of the garage today. installed the gas tank. turned the truck around and pushed it back in. went and picked my box up today. it has been sitting for a while with leaves and other junk in the back. weel the floor is swiss cheese. the lower part of the side are starting ti get some rot. tailgate is shot or was shot can't remember. it is workable i'll get it back in shape this weekend my friend said he would come and give me a hand so we can knock it out in one day.

well not too much to report onthe truck. the wife had the baby landen christopher is his name. 7lbs 14.5 oz 20 1/2 inches. going to go with a different steering column. a van column getting rid of the floor shift. i played with the wipers a little but no luck on the motor i got. hope to have some updates soon. my camera has been on the fritz.

thanks slowlearn. well something to report my father an i got my drive shaft shortened today. it fits good no pics camera is still on the fritz and i'm still layed off so no money to get a new one. trying to do things on the truck that i don't have to buy parts or spend any money right now.

camera still not working. got a auto steering column for my truck. price free is for me. i had to take parts from my other one to fix it but looks great. also scored a set of 52 olds 98 turnsignal lamps for the front of my truck the were a barter deal. all it cost me was shipping. going away to school this week so the lamps should be here by the time i get back. hope to have pics this upcomming weekend.

still no lamps. they are lost in trandsit. i blew the trucl apart to work pn getting the frame cleaned up. put the cab on a dolly my dad had laying around. the cab will probably be going up my friends garage it sept to start getting it back into shape. took the frame to the carwash to pressure wash it that was fun. 12:45 am no one there to bother me or get in the road. well the cops did show up because the saw my truck parked in the car wash parking lot with no one it it till rhe saw me cleaning the frame. the cop was cool he asked me what the frame was from and what i was using it for. so the frame is all clean now. well pics won't load i'll try later.

got my olds turn signals. hopefully this weekend i will get them in my fenders. i'm back to work so time is short to work on the truck with the new baby. here a pic of them.

well been a while since i posted any updates on my build. so i got a factory heater for my truck. found a driverside mirror bracket,the frender support rods,and a chrome astray knob $50.00 for it all. got the frame painted wit zero rust black. i also mounted the trans cooler on the outside of the passanger side running board. figured it was a good spot away from heat and hidden too. bonus is shorter tranny lines.

well got the motor and trans back in the frame. i got my trans cooler lines done. i should have enough room for the exhaust.

well good to be back home after being away for a month. got some work done on the truck. moved the fuel pressure regulator. got the heater box painted. fabed up some of the exhaust i'm waiting on the driverside flange that will be in tomorrow morning so hopefully i can get the exhaust done and put the cab back on for the final fab work the take it off again to do the body work over the winter.

well got the cab back on the chassy. put a couple of other parts on. scored a gmc horn button at the junkyard along wit a air cleaner assembly. redid my guage cluster this time they all fit in the factory spot.

well got my gas pedal installed. heater installed to see how it looked.

well got some work done on the truck. the wife got me a nice new auto darking welding hood for my birthday today. had to try it out. plus the wife need to do her finals on line today so it worked out good. got my headlight and parking lights wired up and tested. i decided to move the turn signals and parking lamps to behind the grill.

she got it on the black friday sale. thanks i will be tearing the truck apart for hopefully the final time for rust removal and paint. hood works great too.
