All this is Awesome.....more more!!! I bet a steel SWB fleet bed floor would sell like sliced bread, heck even a LWB steel bed floor for that matter.

Jon,
The cowl looks awesome. I think every truck we build will wear one. Thanks for the quick work. Include the washer nozzles in the package. Welcome back to the snow! Mike D.

Re: Updates *pics*
I like it. I still vote for completely shaved without nozzles. It will be easier to cut holes and add nozzles than to close up holes. JMO. I do like it though!!!

Thanks Mike...I should've extended my stay until my wife got the driveway clean...LOL
Cutting nozzle holes is not easy. Not that long ago the company I was working for received 100 Toyota Camry hoods that has missed the process step to cut the nozzle holes. We thought we could cut them and salvage the lot....getting the shape and size exactly right proved to be impossible. The tolerances on the nozzle opening are pretty tight and it's easy to either make the nozzle want to fall out or have a visible air gap once installed. |

Re: Updates *pics*
Not if the holes have a specific recess to mount the nozzles.

That is awesome. Put me in line for a shaved cowl to save our cabs from further rust issues in the future after repairing them. Shaved the one on my Blazer and that was a lot of work. Would rather buy one. You guys are awesome asking the truckers what we need.

I'll take a shaved cowl ... where do I send the funding?
I'll take mine without the washer nozzle holes, ... but add tomato and extra mustard, please. Serious business ... let us know as soon as the cowl's become available for shipment. |

Re: Updates *pics*
I hope you don't think I'm trying to be a pain here. I was trying to suggest what I thought would be nice... Shaved w/out washer holes. I have never been able to completely get behind late model washer nozzles on these trucks. For some reason they don't seem to jive right for me (kinda like late model sportsides on our trucks). I like modern conveniences, but subtle. Kinda like using a micro switch on window cranks to operate power windows. I like the washers on the wiper because it isn't quite as obvious. It's not that I'm not for customizing, I definately am, but certain things seem to look odd on our trucks. I also think you would have to figure out which nozzles will hit the windsheild at the right spot. Too high and you won't get the bottom washed well, too low and the top doesn't get washed. Maybe you could include a template and a suggestion for the correct nozzle to use. Just my Opinion, probably not worth the bits its written in though!
Shawn

I certainly don't see any opinion as a "Pain". I agree the calculating the angle and pattern a paramount to this working correctly. I think that finding a later model vehicle with roughly the same windshield angle and measuring the distance from the base of the windshield and split from center should produce the correct placement; even if that setup comes from a car or SUV. I can't stress enough how tough cutting clean nozzle holes is by hand. |

I will also vote shaved with no washer holes. Get me a part, I will give you money like yesterday if the price is reasonable.

Re: Updates *pics*
When are the LWB fleetsides and 67-68 grilles going to be for sale?
Is the LWB fleetside steel floor going to be available at the same time as the bedsides? What about the SWB fleetside steel floors? Which vendors sell your products on this board? Thanx Dano

Re: Updates *pics*
I've seen a few members mention SUBURBAN parts, such as upper hatch, but you haven't responded to any of these suggestions. You should ask guys in the Suburban forum for suggestions. I think an upper hatch would be a good seller, as there are very few good hatches around and a few guys on this board looking for them...myself included.
I think it's commendable coming on here and asking for input from the end user of the products. |

Just a quick note to let you know we haven't gone anywhere; just catching up after getting back from Taiwan.
I'm still looking for an auxillary battery tray to buy for a sample and a lower rear bed section from a 6' fleetside bed. I'll be updating other parts soon. Thanks, Jon |

DANG...I still have not seen my inner fender patch panels for under the battery. You could sell about 50 of them for every shaved cowl you sell...LOL...since everybody needs one of those!

The aux battery tray was shipped to the factory last week. This should be a quick turnaround because it looks like the one bracket won't require any tooling; just a brake and a program for the laser cutter to add the holes. The LWB bedsides are now scheduled to leave by the end of May- not sure why they're delayed. |
