Re: Sigshooter's 1965 C10

Welded in my patch panels for my fuel filler doors yesterday, it buckled above and below the patch which just made me sick.

You can't see it much in the photo but it buckled in above and below the patch. The rest looks pretty good. I think I am going to start by cutting it loose on top first and see what happens. If that doesn't work I may just cut the whole thing out and start over!

Hey Robert, check out MP&C's thread… He's amazing with the Metal Fab… Bomp has been putting some of those techniques to work on his build… Just thought I'd drop the link here for ya...

grabbed a door sill for a straight edge, it shows the buckle and it is worse than I thought. 1rst pic shows the bed straight then it gets worse

No, I haven't yet..... As some of you may know my mom is battling cancer for the 2 nd time in 2 years. This time it is in her stomach and is inoperable, the prognosis is not so great.
Monday she went into the hospital, she has lost 35 lbs in the last couple weeks because she can't eat or drink much without getting sick. She was very weak and dehydrated and they have been running bag after bag of iv's in her. Her immune system is so low that anyone, Dr.'s included, that come into her room have to wear a mask and wash and sanitize their hands before entering.

I was hoping to get the truck back together for a few of the upcoming shows and events, but for now it is on hold.

I will post up some pics when I get to weld in the patch and weld in the inner panel.

Thanks to all who have offered up prayers.

Re: Sigshooter's 1965 C10

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, mom is home resting. She is still very weak and tired, her next chemo is scheduled for Tuesday but she may not be well enough to take it. We had to wait an additional week last time because she was too week. She takes them about once a month

I will keep everyone posted on how she is doing, thanks again!

Re: Sigshooter's 1965 C10

Tahlequah car show
Saturday April 26th is Tahlequah's annual car show we have been doing this for nearly 30 years and it is always a ton of fun!

I want to get as many 60-66 trucks there I can, I plan on having a get together at my house after the show. The show is downtown around the old courthouse square and the red fern festival will be going on that weekend as well so there will be fun for the whole family!

Hope to see you there!

Re: Sigshooter's 1965 C10

Just an update
It has been nearly a year since my last post, mom is still battling cancer and is currently going thru chemo for a 3rd time. Not much has been done on the truck, but I hope to be able to work on it this spring and at least finish the big window conversion then a quickie paint job and get it put back together so I can drive it and get some therapy time with my truck.
