Few more pics from sat after lots of blocking. Sunday he was supposed to be wet sanding with 400 to get ready for final paint. Inside bed supposed to get paint this week, and rest of truck getting paint this coming weekend if all goes well.

815K GM Arrival Blue

500 bucks a gallon - ouch! Has pearl in it.

Plan is 3-4 coats of color and 6-8 coats of clear.

I think I can finally start to see that light at the end of the tunnel.

quick question....I'm not a paint expert...but did they spray sealer over those sections they worked on? Just noting how you can see them through the paint right now....

He did spray some sort of sealer. I don't know paint and body, but he has been doing it for many many years. But good observation/question. I always ask him stuff like that to learn how it all works. He did say he wished that color covered better. Prob gonna take 4 coats.

I told him if it turns out anything like this roadrunner he did, I will be happy.

Final paint is on! Later this week she gets color sand with 2000, cut,glaze,and wax.

Heading to the shop tomorrow to check out the finished paint job after wet sand and polish. Put in a LMC order to get several odds and ends to get her back on the road.

Dropped my LMC stuff with the bodyman today. Hopefully get lights done and front and
back glass in by next weekend. Ran into slight snag on taillight fuel filler. The Lens is thicker than we thought and does not want to clear properly. We have a plan and I will post up more pics and info as we get further along.

I know I haven't seen a finished painted truck in a while on here. It's nice too see one done right.

Ordered my shaved door kit from autoloc today. Got a great deal too. They are offering free ground shipping and 20% off all web orders. I got the 199.99 4 channel kit with 50lb heavy duty solenoids for 159.00 total.

Only things left to buy at this stage are front and rear bumpers and front grille moldings.

No new pics yet, but a progress report. All glass is in, door popper kit installed, one piece windows in with power regulators. A little touch up to do in the door jambs this week.
If all goes well, will be taking seats over to shop to get installed. Getting tag and registration tomorrow. Plan to drive her home no later than Dec 4th. I don't have bumpers yet. Those and grille moldings are next on the "save up" for list. Interior will get done a little at a time.
Mainly want to get it on the road to help fire up some motivation. It has been a long time coming.
Projects this deep on for sure not for the faint of heart, and I doubt I will do it again.

Finally! First pics of assembled truck out in the sun. Also first test drive of completed truck.

Saving up for bumpers and grille moldings. Then do carpet, door panels, interior a little at a time.

Congratulations! Hope I'll be there next spring, but I'm not holding my breath. I love that color.
