Re: Torchered

Thanks Cheby

A little progress has been made,
tail gates welded up
inside of the gate is smoothed
bed pockets are smoothed
wheel wells are welded up
dash is smoothed with the exeption of the ash tray

I called Centerline wheels today, It would be nice if a company could actually do there job and in the time line they tell you. Nope, the wheels had the wrong lip and I have to wait another two months. Sorry if your not supposed to post items like this but it is true BS and they should learn to write there orders in legible hand writing!

Well here are some pics

Re: Torchered

We are going to do something a little different on the rear bumper. teh bed sides will be notched. the bumper will be narrowed about two inches and slid under the bed about two inches. The fron will be nipped and tucked too.

Re: Torchered

Thanks fellas
Things are running slow now. The project seems to be bogged down waiting for parts.
There are a couple new items. Under the bed a tray has been constructed to house the two air tanks, pumps and batteries.
KinDigIt handles where installed. Both the stock handles and these had pluses and minuses. I couldnt decide so I flipped a coin. Seriously, the shop owner doesnt believe me but really either way I would have been happy.
Next item on the chopping block is the dash and inner fenders. The dash will be a modified glove box door.

NOTE: The wheels have been canceled, the manufacturer made the wrong wheels then reniged on producing my order in an attempt to force my hand in purchasing there mistake. That didnt fly.

Sorry Link added, where the button is to push in and open the latch you push in on the handle and the rest of the handle ( the thin part to the right ) pivots out.

Re: Torchered

Fenders are roughed out. The front outer fenders have been boxed in on the lip. The radiator support will be chopped and leveled with inner fenders and a Radiator cover will be installed.

Its hard when you start investing so much into a vehicle to stop at normal, regular. or under the value of your desired end result.

I didn't see this posted earlier, an update on the wheels; Centerline - Oh my I cant say what I want to. Not only did they make the wrong wheels and take three months to do so they then took another month and a half to tell me they could not get smooth rings sourced in. So I was stuck with what they produced. Nadda, they can keep there order mistake.
Now I am talking to Bonspeed wheels and I have to say I wish they had more designs but I love talking to Brad. Best sales and service guy ever - this guy has aways got it done for me and does not mind telling you his opinion if your willing to listen.
The choices are as follows;
http://www.bonspeedwheels.com/wheels.html

The Big Block, Medusa Or Velocity.

And If you dont like them please dont suggest the huntington. "Norm" isn't in my language. The Royals are on my Nova, Yes that was an odd choice but I wouldn't take it back. They took that rust bucket to a hole new level.

From the sounds of it the grill will be going on this week and some bumper trimming should be done. I do not know if the Instrument cluster is done but Ill get a picture when I stop by Wednesday.

Thanks for looking

Re: Torchered

Here is a truck with something that looks like the Big blocks. I like how the engine compartment was finished, with the exception of no inner fenders.

This is cool one from Germany, Nice looking GMC

In my eye tge Chicanery is too retro? New age - perhaps that is what I'm trying to say.

The Chicanery is a nice looking wheel, I could see that working.

Re: Torchered

Tight race! Medusa and The Big Block are coming out as the leaders.

Stopped by the shop yesterday. Inner fenders are in some tweaking still has to be done. Sounds like the rest of the engine bay will be finished before moving on to the interior.

Pics coming
