So you wipe the wood with baking soda water solution then used a microwave transformer (2000V) turn it on. But STAY BACK it will not tickle!!!!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

The first pick you can see the clamps for the electricity. Max distance I could get results was 2' between clamps the closer the more violent. This was only about 10", this part is up near the cab in the middle.
Second pic is in the sun. All the wood has a matt clear varnish.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So I ordered 2 new front air bags, one has a small slit in it, they carry a lot of weight so peace of mind it's been 2 years. Also ordered a head liner and the inner door seals that go in the grove and on the floor to door. I'm thinking of covering the head liner in speaker box carpet, as well as door panels.
How do you guys finish the edges? Wrap around or cut flush?

Nice work on the wood. I was wondering how in the world you were burning it too. Did you just rob the microwave transformer from your microwave then put it back in when you were done?

I actually went out and bought a referb microwave for $40, did some microwave experiments with the kids. (tin foil, cd's, florescent light bulb) Then pulled the transformer and gave the rest to my boys to take apart.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So this weekend I got a few things done on the truck. I put on some chrome hub caps on my dually's, I like the look.
I got the head liner covered in the speaker box carpet and installed, installation is not an easy thing to do! and the upper speakers hooked up. Turned out really nice. The carpet really muffles the sound inside should make a huge difference when I'm driving.
Today I mounted and hooked up my new 2 stage boost controller. Now I can have "drive around" boost and "Lets get crazy" boost lol. Really it will be 8psi and 14psi, I drove all last summer at 8psi so 14 will be fun.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Nice upgrades. The chrome is just enough to draw the eye to that big 'ole coal belcher lol. Gotta love it! One thing I have to say about your rig is that it's certainly unique...and that's a really good thing. My favorite build thread, no doubt.

Thankyou very much! I like unique, I like the fact I can stop at any traffic light and know I will never see one the same.

At that point are you pushing the integrity of the motor?

Mainly the wrist pins and bushings. Those IDI's do not like above 12psi. But maybe at his truck's weight, it'll take it and live. Good luck my friend.

The door panels look great. What did you use for the base?

Well because of kehstr and your concern maybe I will just put the high boost at 12psi and be happy. I don't want to push it to much Thanks.

I used the original press board panels that I took off of the doors.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Right on. I was curious because I will need to redo the ones in my 40 some time. On the truck, yeah, it may live a long life at 14psi. (not my luck haha) But those turbos on them, stock or aftermarket, didn't even flow the air of the HX35.

I'm curios about the noise difference too.

Does your tire sponsor send tires to the Netherlands?? I want some....
