I'm glad you stayed at it and didn't stray when you were partially done.

Turned out fantastic. What a finish given your humble outdoor garage start.

well unless you done did changed out the custom dash and ditched the chopped cab and custom tailgate that aint the truck I always look at when I feel the urge to wanna rake the cab on mine but its a nice color just needs more chrome on the outside to me but I love the diamonds on the seat

Nice truck your friend got....I see the others didn't notice your post at the bottom In addition to the other things the glaring difference to me is the front fender isn't sectioned...

You misunderstood what I said. It's not my truck (never was) my buddy traded his dually for this square. It used to belong to a guy from Tennessee who got it from another guy...

He brought it by today for me to look at. It has some issues here and there but is an awesome driver.

I haven't done much to mine lately as I have been reworking a '91 for a customer. It was 2 linked by someone that had no clue what they were doing so I cut the back end off and rebuilt it all. If there is interest, I can post some pics of it here.

I just read you post about finishing the truck, I noticed right off that was not yours, I saw that one a year or so ago...plus the cab's not chopped and the fender is not reworked....Looks nice for a driver...

Well here is what has been going on at DV8customs



This is a '91 a customer brought in to have the suspension reworked




Going to need to tack this back on...



Notice you can't see the bolt to mount this bag



Knocked the bags off those little mounts and this is what I found. Best I can tell they welded the bolt to the plate and then filled in the axle mount with JB weld and slapped it together



Now a lot of you guys out there would say you have to run a panhard bar or watts with a two link. Not so my friends, feast your eyes on this bit of genius

First order of business was to get a clean slate



Then I fabbed a new back half



Here is a closer shot of the custom centering device if anybody wants to try and reverse engineer it



Got the "link bar" off the passenger side and cut brackets off the frame and axle

Found out a couple days ago that the upper cups were a hack job as well. They used a good piece of pipe but welded a piece of 16ga to it to mount the bag and then welded a 3/4" bolt to the 16ga. I'm surprised they were able to get enough heat in the bolt to hold it on and not blow through the sheet metal. The 16ga was all twisted and warped and only held on by 4 tiny tack welds.



I am using a 2' piece of hydraulic hose a leader on the front bags. It will route through the frame and come out just ahead of the front cab mount and tie into the stainless.




Last night I pressurized the system and have just two small leaks to tend to today. Should have this thing wrapped up soon

OMG, that is some scary stuff there, did he drive that thing on the street a lot?

In the pictures, it looks like the tubing used for the link bars was welded to the front part of the main leaf spring and the spring eye used as the piviot point. Some people have no right to be doing fab work....

Your stuff looks great and very safe to drive. He should be proud of the work you did on his truck. Hope he pays you well and gives you props when people look at it.

You are correct on the link bars, scary stuff.

This guys son bought the truck already bagged and a couple of years ago and has since passed away so it has been sitting. He wanted to get it reworked so he could enjoy driving it since his son was so proud of it.
