Cool! I have already stopped by the speedshop here and priced them but wasn't sure how sturdy they would be. Guess this is the route I will go. Thanks

Of course the main bracket only works with headers, but you probably already knew that. Hope this settup works for well for you!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

After talking to 2 very knowledgeble people about the engine vacuum and breathing i finally got a clear answer. The setup that i am doing should be more than enough pcv for the engine. My breathers should be in tomorrow and i can get them installed. @ 67cheby, looks like we'll b runnin the same settup!

I know the bracket is made for headers but I am not able to install the headers right now. So what I did was just cut a couple of 1/2" spacers to bring the main bracket out. Seems to be real sturdy. But I have a clearance issue with the alternator on the bracket itself. I can only rotate the top of the alternator about an inch before the case of it bottoms out on the main bracket. Leaving me not much to adjust a belt with. I was wondering if you had the same issue?

Actually I did. Once everything is together you should be able to lean it further toward the driver inner fender. I had another alternator on it and did a little grinding so I could have some adjustment, but after I tilted it out more it didn't need grinding and I have at least 3 inches of adjustment. If you need a belt part number it's a Gates 7541 XL, and here is a pic that might help. I may have already posted it, but you can see that the mounting tab on the alt is almost horizontal.

Maybe I'll just keep running this settup......if you want to do this it's a lot cheaper. Some old vc's, a little tape, and a small peice of cloth......$0.

You guys are too much! I thought the neon green matched my paint, at least when it's in the sun, at the right direction, with you head tilted, holding your mouth just right, and only on Wednesday.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

The brown truck stopped by my house today! I finally got my breathers in from SoCal. I opted for the MOON brand for the nostalgia. Install is really easy and took about an hour or so to be totally done and to reinstall the vc's. First I used the gasket to mark where to drill the holes, drilled first with a 7/64 then stepped up to a 1/4 inch bit. They came out nice, and fit really good!!!!

They fit really good, if they were any wider it would have a gap at the edges. When they are tightened down they snug up really nice. The firewall has at least 3.5 inches of clearance and the driver side firewall almost looks like it was made to accomodate them. I drove around the block 3 times and checked for any oil around them and could not find any leaks, so I am confident they'll work out!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking that maybe once I got the belt on and was able to tighten all the brackets thing might line up a little better. I also found out that the brackets from a 63 thru 67 327 corvette will work perfect with my setup too.
