Re: Lets see your truck!

Mustang 2 front end with 2" dropped spindles, SBC, Turbo 350 trans. Narrowed 69 Mustang 9 inch rear. 20" American racing torque thrust 2 wheels, mini tubs in bed. Oak bed wood tinted red like truck with many coats of automotive clear. Shaved door handles. About to install the actuators with remote to pop the doors open, finish putting in new windshield glass. Also working on making the windshield swing out with an electric actuator since I don't have a rebuild-able crank mechanism.

Re: Lets see your truck!

Are you referring to the 2nd picture? That is the after when I two toned the cab and painted it a BMW M3 color. It is a Charcoal Metallic. The top of the hood is the same color as well. As far as I know they don't repop them at all for this body style.

I bet the two-tone changes the entire look of the truck once it's fully assembled.

Mostly complete now. Painting the two tone completely changed the look of the truck.

Re: Lets see your truck!

1946 Package Delivery. I had this for about 8 years now and I am hoping to get started at the end of this year. I will only be looking to do air bags and disc brakes suspension, restore the interior add glass, minor body work as needed to match whats there now and wheels.
I have most of the parts to get the plans above started.

It's also has a Knox tailgate on it. LOL

A friend of mine and I are going to put a 2x3 custom frame under it along with a 4" drop axle and a leaf spring up front as well.

Yes , the evil spawn that is the s10 doodle bug base.
Check out any 35-47 ford car frame or 35-40 car pickup to get the ideal stepdown frame, light, avalable,, if you get the front wheels set forward by approx 10" you will have the right look. there is no way this truck will be right with the dime frame. ever met McDanials in Carlsbad?

Dime frame = S10 frame? Don't know any McDanials. 10" longer wheel base? Lol, no way. In fact, I'm probably going 10" shorter.

Thanks, Those flatbeds are nice also. In the past I had a 46 1 1/2 ton flatbed and a small 3/4 ton (1/2 ton some would call them).

Thanks, this will be a lot of work, but it should be fun doing it. Maybe even start my first build thread. lol

BTW. This has the short 127 inch wheelbase, the same as my 72 suburban.

Re: Lets see your truck!

"nice truck......... is that a 8' bed ?"

This is a T-14 3/4 ton originally. And it has the extra long bed. 14" longer than a chevy short bed, 4" longer than a chevy long bed. I started to cut it down several times but the thought of having something different won over the thought of correct proportions. I plan on rolling it out in the spring with the GMC front end much to some saying that the front end is ugly. I like it to be different. There's not another one around that I have laid my eyes on. Lot's of short bed chevy's.

Anyone saying a 37 gmc's grill is ugly dosent got any taste, PERIOD.
its one of the coolest designs from the thirties - hands down.

To me the so called "art Deco" bulbulous grills from 41 up is whats ugly,

There is no more art deco anything automotive than a 37-8 gmc grill,
They can be done like a volume control---turned down or all the way up!
