Never having to worry about a top would be nice for sure, good choice.

I'd say given your location, you'll be able to run it a fair amount, couldn't do that here, weather changes like every 5 minutes.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7

well, they got a lot more done on the blazer. Went by today and took some pics. They told me they thought they could have it finished up in primer by the end of next week. He said the hard part is over with all the panels, so it's just down to the bodywork. They capped the other door and window channel and worked on the bed. Also installed David's(woodridge) dash he let me have when we swapped for the A/C. Looking good. Getting excited!!!!!!!!

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7

I got in touch with a guy that my body guy recommended up by him to sandblast the frame for me with the body on for a little over a $100. I think he's going to go get it from my body guy when he's done and then I'll get it from him when he's done blasting it. Hopefully, I can have it back by the first of the year.

Got a lot of new parts in the garage and more coming for Christmas, hopefully. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did some trading on it. I had a 72 Big Block burb that I traded for the bodywork.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7

hey guys, need some opinions on something real quick. There is a board member on 67-72 that had his instrument bezel and glove box door line-x'd and it looked really good. Don't have the pic because I can't find it. But it got me thinking of what else to line x without getting carried away. The only other thing I was thinking about was the radio delete and maybe the metal door panels/without arm rest holes.

What do you think?

If your staying Rat Rod style I think it works. Would it be too much Black?
(Assuming that the Line-X inside the tub is going to be Black like exterior)

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7

Before you get to carried away with the line-x, just a reminder. Pollen Season! It seems like that crap gets in every lil crack and crevice and is a boog to get out. I know you're doing the floor and I proably would as well on a topless project. Have you thought about having your seats and door panels done in marine vinyl? That might look better and be near impervious to the occaisonal shower. I've got a pic (film not digital) somewhere of an early mustang that was completely covered in that vinyl! The owner said his father had bought the car new and drove it for years and then parked it. When they decided to get it back out it really needed paint but they didn't know how to paint. The guys did interiors for a living so they disassembled the car and covered every panel with marine vinyl! Kinda odd, but interesting. I'll see if I can find the pic and scan it so I can post it.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7

I know what you mean Asa about the pollen. I don't plan to drive it if there is a chance of rain and I plan on getting a universal car cover if for some reason I get stuck in a "small" shower. Which probably rules out bringing it to Maggie Valley

I like the glove box matching the gauge cluster, It gets my vote. I'm not sold on the line-x floor but I'm not completely against it either.

I think I would have to line the kick panels as well. I'd try to get anywhere that would collect water as waterproof as possible.

Looking better each day. So what are you doing about lowing it? AIR? Is the floor going to be stock in the back?

travis, I'm going to bag it in the rear. Nothing special though, no c-notch or anything. Just want the nice ride. Going to run a schrader valve to the license plate bolt and adjust it there. Can always do more later if I want. Got some 2600 firestones the other day for $100 so getting excited to get her back.

Sounds like a plan. I hope to see it this summer, if you get it on the road by then. Keep it up.

The date for Maggie Valley is May 2, 3, and 4th.

I'm going with a flat black, probably the Hot Rod Flatz Black
