Just put it in this morning, and I will.

I'm working on another project for the truck now. After driving behind you (60ratrod) I noticed that the tail lights aren't that bright so I'm going to do something about it. I'll try to remember to take pictures while I'm doing it.

Here is the radio that I got yesterday. I think it looks good where I put it. I didn't have much choice where though. I got some speakers today and I only have one installed. I wanted to put them both under the dash but the passenger side is way to tight to hide the speaker. So I will have to think of something to make that work.

I haven't been doing much on either of my trucks; just driving it. And in doing so I started to not like the steering wheel cover that I had put on, so I decided to fill in the cracks and give it a new paint job. I thought that I had it sanded and filled in nicely but after I painted it only then was I able to see what I missed. Oh well.

Not much going on with the truck; just a few things here and there like sanding and messing with the engine. Well Monday I ran into a fellow Nick that I met a while ago. We got to talking and he said that he has a tailgate for a fleet side that he didn't need or want. He also said that he had an old radio that he didn't want, but didn't know if it worked. So today I stopped by his house and had a look at the tailgate and radio. Well $35 later ($25 for the tailgate and $10 for the radio) I was on my way home; well after BSing for a while. I'm pretty excited about the radio. It works, but could use a good cleaning. So after I get it cleaned up I'll be taking out that old Sanyo radio. It will be nice to be back to the stock looking dash.

And actually the tailgate use to be medium green, but someone painted it that dark green. Guess what I'll be doing for a little while.

So I just put in an HEI.........Oh My God!!.... What a difference that made!!!! I went to oldiron's house to change it out (because I had no idea how) and I felt like I was limping the whole way there. I could not believe that I was driving the same truck.

I just want to go drive it now!!!

I still need to install the $10 radio, and repaint and install the new to me tailgate. I'll be looking for a round-to-it so that I can get it all done.

So the rest of the short term to do list is; change out the rocker panels; patch the holes in the floor boards; paint it with satin black epoxy primer (w/ glossy white top); drive the he!! out of it.

I just got done with the tailgate. I don't know if I like the white lettering on it, though it could be the crappy job I did painting it. I don't know yet; we'll see in a couple days when it's cured. I also realized that I forgot to post what I also just got. I went to the local pull-a-part with 60ratrod, and we found a cruise control unit from the '70's. Well I don't know what wires go where yet so I was trying to find something to help me figure that out and I found one for sale on Evil-bay. And yes I got it. I don't know when I'll put it in or which truck it'll go in, but I'll let you all know.

Ya it is original. There are a couple dents in it but it's in a lot better shape than the one I have on the truck now.

Well I got it painted like I wanted it (sort of) and put on tonight. I need A LOT more practice with pin striping before I'm gonna be any good at it. The tailgate looks like a kid striped it

but at least this one is straight.

I had the same cruise control in my 72, but i took it out because it didnt work

the pin striping can be fixed rather easy nick, it'll just take some white paint and some patience

I'll have to try to fix it later. Right now I'm in the middle of replacing the engine. Best part is, it's below freezing outside and I'm working it my driveway. Yesterday I changed most of the gaskets on the new to me engine, and got most of the engine in the truck ready to pull out. Today I unbolted everything else in the trucks engine to pull it out, then I pulled it out. Promptly after that I went running inside because I could no longer feel my toes. Jumped in a luke worm shower, and now I'm eating a bit of lunch to worm up some more. I'm taking tomorrow off from working on the truck, but then back at it again friday. Hopefully I'll have it done then, but if now saturday also. If anyone wants to lend a hand; it'd be much appreciated.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures but I was trying to work as fast as I could to get back inside.
