Thanks I like those wheels a lot better. I got the new column but need an intermediate shaft. Do you think the one lmc sells as a replacement to 67-68 will work? Having a hard time finding one.

I'm not sure but I suggest you pm Kevin (kevsclassics) he is the tilt guru and has installed them a lot. He probably could steer you (pun intended) in the right direction on finding the shaft. The 67-68 weren't collapsible so I don't know if it is interchangeable.

Got extremely lucky and found a 72 sitting in a field and was told to take what I wanted from it. Perfect intermediate shaft, so I got it pulled and put in. Column is now in and starting on the gauges.

Front and rear bumpers on. Battery installed, and steering column in. Got all the lights working properly so we are almost ready to fire it up.

Lots done. Pulled the instrument cluster and got the gauges changed over to white, really happy with the look so far. Weather strip put in around doors, kick panels in and carpet in.

Last pic for now. Heading to the Holley Hot Rod Reunion this week with Dad. Hope to pick up some stuff I need. Probably will be taking Dad's 57 Chevy Belair. Is anyone else going?

They are. I found them on eBay without speakers. I wanted my own choice.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky

Got the stereo completed, so now I am completely done with all wiring.... Got the cluster put in. Had some trouble with the temp gauge pegging out, tied that back to the gauge, had to replace it. Stereo sounds great by the way, can't wait to hear the motor now. Got the steering wheel in, decided to two tone it. It's actually from a 67-68 CST truck with the glass horn button which isn't in the greatest shape, but considering the rarity of them, I thought I would use it until I can locate a better one. I didn't relealize how expensive they were going for on ebay. Maybe I will run across one at a swap meeting.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky

Always, thought a headliner would look nice in the truck, since I had seen others with it. So I ordered one with the trim from Classic Parts of America. I knew the trim was screwed into the cab, but once I got the trim I was suprised to see tabs on the back. So....after research I found that factory headliner trucks had slots cut out for these tabs. I found a nice how to on Brothers Trucks website. Followed them to a tee and had nice results.

Got all my Lokar stuff in for my throttle and kick down. I have got the kick down box mounted and decided to wire in my electric choke. I will post more pics of the throttle set up. Very nice kit.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky

The seat that was in my truck was a little to be desired. Several springs were broken and the foam was torn. I was looking around on craigslist and come across a 69 suburban truck someone was parting out and had a real nice seat. The cover was torn, but everything else was nice. I took it all apart and sandblasted everything and reassembled. I had ordered a black / white houndstooth seat cover and think it turned out pretty good.

Re: 1971 Chevy C10 SWB - Elizabethtown, Ky

Got the new passenger door glass put in along with regulator and new vent window assembly. That was tons of fun.....not. Anyway got all new rubber, belt moldings put in and the chrome strip molding on inner door put on. Hopefully tomorow I will get to run down to Southern Kentucky Classics and pick up my new backglass and grill.
