Re: Roadster Shop / Craftsman C-10 Muscle Truck Build

Look at the last two pages before this one on the last guy making a point about something not being correct on this build. Not trying to be a wise guy, it just amazes me that one of the best shops in the country is building HOT ROD to GIVE AWAY and this is the second time someone has critique'd the truck about correctness. Who cares if its not correct, enjoy viewing one of the finest C-10's being built in the country.

I guess you missed the part where the shop building the truck just said they appreciate the feedback and enjoy the discussion, or they wouldn't post on open forums?

I think the black bezels look better. The factory got that right IMHO. Hell, this shop went with a '69 grille on a '69 truck on a frame off build. They could have just as easily gone with a 67/68 or 71/72 grille, but they didn't. Seems like using the correct black bezels would be in order too, but whatever. Just wanted to make sure they were aware, because if a shop guy with a list of parts to order just went down the list and started ordering stuff, they may not even beware of the difference due to many of the parts vendors combining parts.

Re: Roadster Shop / Craftsman C-10 Muscle Truck Build

This is a cool build. With the design and direction of this build, I was a little surprised you didn't go with the one-piece door glass conversion.

My one piece of criticism? Not enough video. Not just longer segments, but unedited pieces of certain work being done. But I'm a video guy, so don't take it as a complaint. I can sit and watch builds being done all day, unfortunately, most are too edited to really get a feel for what's being done, or the video's such bad quality you'd think it was a BETA tape from 1987.

This thing will be awesome once complete. Can't wait to see it.

Re: Roadster Shop / Craftsman C-10 Muscle Truck Build

Awesome build! I just can't believe you ruined it by using that non standard frame and motor..............

With the flat firewall how much did the motor have to get moved forward and how will that affect the weight bias?

We weren't shooting for 'correctness' with this either, we just liked the brighter surrounds...

Lol, I hear ya on the videos - We've been hearing the cries for longer video a lot! Unfortunately we are not making the calls on that. The production team has figured a time that most people will keep watching all the way to the end. which is about the 3 min mark. Any longer, I've been told, and more people start 'changing channel' and not watching the whole thing. Too much 'detail', some may find boring, too much flash and the enthusiasts dont quite get as much out of it as they would like. Tricky to find a balance... Got to capture the interest of the general public while appealing to the genuine truck guys etc...

Ha ha...our chassis are definitely 'non-standard'. I'll take that as a compliment!

I'll get some specs on Monday and post them up.

I really appreciate the video series, it's great to be able to watch each aspect of a build in separate clips. Thanks for posting these links here!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
