Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Nasty day around here today. Yesterday was beautiful, but a bad day for the wrenching. As I was installing and trying to adjust the linkage on the T350,
I found out the steering column I'd painted and otherwise massaged is full of enough slop as to not let "Park" be "Park"....

I was able to make a radio block off for the newly painted dash. I made it out of a radio...I just applied a liberal amount of grinder with a cut-off blade and
a half a garbage can worth of '68 radio internals. I'm thinking about making a little plaque that will match the ignition indicator. It will say, "This Radio Does Not Work".

Even though it was a nice weather day yesterday that, by the end of the day had me pissed at more need for part$ I didn't count on (what's new about that?),
today working in the the nasty weather day yielded some good results. Adjusted the ECE adjustable pan hard bar (I have about 3/8" equally between the inside of the wheel tub and the tires riding on 20 x 10's),
and tightened down the rest of the rear suspension parts.

Installed the rear roll pan, and mounted the passenger door.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I took both doors apart, replaced one door handle, I was going to replace window regulator but decided not yet because I need to get new weather trim first, Pulled both door locks out, I am going to either get new ones or get these re-keyed. Installed new window visors. Took her for a ride, on the freeway, I need to get her timed, she was making a poping noise when I pushed in gas peddle when I was at around 65 mph. I bought a compression tester and timing light, I was going to do the checks but my lady needed me, so I will continue next weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Started the '72 up after it had sat for 6 months without moving. Moved it under it's own power to a differant location in the yard. Still don't have the brake lines done or carrier bearing changed, not having a garage and all the snow and rain we've had has really slowed down my progress!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

bought some body filler (the better cheap crap from autozone) so i can start doing the body work on my replacement fender, bought a few more tools to and stuff to use to work on it with, bought some electrical stuff, bought my push starter button, drilled the mounting hole and installed it, just need to wire it up. i decided to go with the blue cover instead of the red or clear that it came with, i just wish it lit up, but oh well what do you expect for $30 . i also started doing some more wiring repair under the dash, should have done that when it was out because it would have been alot less hassle, oh well live and learn haha. i also added the headlight and wiper switch connectors back on (sorry no pics of that) as i decided to run the stock switches again.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Exactly what I was thinking. 102" wheelbase with a 9:1 358 Bush Cup motor in it running thru a jerico and 180 deg headers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Found a big bubble in my paint the other day and when I pushed on it, it cracked. So much for a $4,000. paint job!
This weekend I decided to fix it since I had some of the paint left over.

Before...

After...
