Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Started the '72 up after it had sat for 6 months without moving. Moved it under it's own power to a differant location in the yard. Still don't have the brake lines done or carrier bearing changed, not having a garage and all the snow and rain we've had has really slowed down my progress!

are you building a console for a bench or bucket seats? my son and I are building one for a bench and would be interested in seeing what others are doing.

thanks,

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

bought some body filler (the better cheap crap from autozone) so i can start doing the body work on my replacement fender, bought a few more tools to and stuff to use to work on it with, bought some electrical stuff, bought my push starter button, drilled the mounting hole and installed it, just need to wire it up. i decided to go with the blue cover instead of the red or clear that it came with, i just wish it lit up, but oh well what do you expect for $30 . i also started doing some more wiring repair under the dash, should have done that when it was out because it would have been alot less hassle, oh well live and learn haha. i also added the headlight and wiper switch connectors back on (sorry no pics of that) as i decided to run the stock switches again.

Exactly what I was thinking. 102" wheelbase with a 9:1 358 Bush Cup motor in it running thru a jerico and 180 deg headers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Found a big bubble in my paint the other day and when I pushed on it, it cracked. So much for a $4,000. paint job!
This weekend I decided to fix it since I had some of the paint left over.

Before...

After...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

got some more fittings and line for the rear bags, relocated the ignition switch to the inside of my center console, extended the wiring for the ignition and wired up the starter button. all wiring is done under dash for now except for the gauges which i can do from the front of the dash where the cluster goes.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed the faux-radio (gutted a non-working stocker to fill the dash hole). Checked the door install I did yesterday. It'll need a little more "lining up". Jacked up the back two corners again to check the fit of the roll pan. Warmed up the welder for some roll pan bending/installing when it's a little warmer.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Did some wire tracing, found a problem and then got it started! Man I'm still pumped! it's about a year and 2 months since I last heard it run. It sounds a lot better to my ears now then it did then. Dunno why, guess it's all the hard sometimes frustrating work I put into it. I drove it a few feet inside the shop just to say I did. Now to find a tailgate and I'm ready for paint!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Lowered the rear a couple more inches and installed my adjustable panhard bar kit. Finally had some NW weather that wasn't crap so I took it for a spin and some pictures. Yeah!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got my new Chrome Dome Light Base, Clear Diffusing Lens and Replacement LED Bulb.
Also picked up some Chrome Sun Visor Brackets and a set of Interior Door Handles, to take to the Upholsterer tomorrow. He'll wrap them in Leather and match them up to the rest of the Interior he's re-upholstering.
Cab goes into Primmer tomorrow and paint by next week.
Then we button it back up!
2 years in the making....I can hardly wait!

Congrats, wwotr.

Installed the "new" tilt column. Got sick spraying some primer under the bed and came home.

Thanks to ECE, and especially to my wife, for the tilt. Fit like a glove.
