Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Bolted the throttle control to the firewall. It will be behind the battery. Drilled the hole through the firewall and bottom battery box brace for the harness.
Finished the emergency brake cables. Used the origional handle bolted to the brake booster bracket. Movin on!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Got the Wheel wells put in so the bed would clear the tires.

Still got some grinding to do on this side

Then I hung all the sheet metal back on it just to make sure the wheel base is right and the wheels are where I like them in the wheel wells before welding it all solid.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I've been off the truck project for 6 months while the tennis elbow pain healed up (cortisone, therapy, etc.). I think it's 100% now, so I'm diving back in.

I reviewed Blackdiesel's videos on one-piece window installation (great work, BTW!). The tracks are done and I've formed and installed the glass run channel. I put the bracket on the glass, and the glass in the channel. Right now I'm taking my first guess at where my power window regulator should bolt in, and I'm fab'ing the attachment to the glass.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Drove a tank of fuel through mine today. Got the tv cable and shift adjusted, washed it and have been just cruisin around all day. Stopped at the hardware store and picked up some plastic coated cable, stainless eyebolt and hardware, a pad lock and made a " keep the unwated folk out from under my hood " device. Had some strange looks from people in the parking lot and asked if I "needed a jump" 3 times.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Drove another tank full of fuel through it. 700r4 shifts awesome, drives great with the new 250 and all the new tapered bearings/Sids steering drop axle stuff. I even convinced the wife to bundle up on our 31 degree day and hit some country roads to see how it drove! The only wrench I turned on it was to adjust Tv pressure a final time.

You are putting some serious miles on that rig, I love it haha.

How does it drive with all the steering drop axle stuff on it?

Rollinrooster...steering looks clean, I always like the look of shooting the intermediate shaft through long tube headers!

Not physically working on it unfortunately, but gathering parts....going to order Langdon's split exhaust manifolds for the 292 this week. Was going to wait, but with the trip coming up I decided to do it earlier.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

sorry for the nagging question, im trying to decide if i should keep my 8.8 Ford rear end, or go with a S-10, on your rear end, how wide is it? Mounting point to mounting point? the 8.8 i have is 64 1/4, so i beleive it is too wide.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Got some of the body parts finished..............

The finish is "faux patina old school black laquer look, white trash, look at my dings, in your face, ten footer, urethane clear coat". That is what it says on the paint can anyway. (It is the latest rage you know.)
