Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

At what point do you have to notch the back? I was gonna go for a 3/5 but I didn't want to have to notch it. Looks like it will hit the bump stop before the rail, but only 1/2" difference?
Just got my '69 and it needs all new springs and shocks... figure I'll set it up right from the beginning.

5" is safe for no notch, 6" is about 50/50- some people have no issues, others are not so lucky...

69 C-10 with stock spindle from a 73 C-10, with a 3 inch drop coil from CPP and rear 6 lug conversion to 5 lug and 4 inch drop coil.
15x8's up fron and 15x10 1/2 in the rear sitting on Cooper Cobras. Eventually going to a 5/7 drop, no bags.

1st Post !

Here is me fathers 71 C-10 with what we believe are 68 front end an bed.

255 60 15 fronts, 275 60 15 rears

Rear frame is notched an the truck rides like a caddy. Far from the ride harsh ride I get from my lowered VW Bus.

Just a heads up, 67 and 68 had simular front clips only the 67 had no turn indicators ( reflectors ) in the fenders front or rear.

We were told by the PO they were 68 parts. We have seen a couple things on the truck that makes us think the marker lights were filled in ..... Both doors do not have holes to mount the rear view mirrors. The tailgate seems to be too smooth.

Lovely truck and oh so loving the split window. I own a 75 Baywindow, 75 Split window bus (13 window) although they dont regard them as German buses as they were bits and pieces of Brazil and German buses but assembled in South Africa and also a 66 beetle...

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"
