Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

Dern Chuck, those boxes look like they were dragged to your house! Hope the parts are ok.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

I'm pretty sure they're fine. I looked them over really well and they look fine but it's an A/C compressor, alternator, and water pump. Each of those have bearings that could be screwed from them dropping the packages and dragging them through mud. Seriously, if the shipper hadn't packaged them like they were, I wouldn't even have my stuff. Everything was packaged in bags. All the components and all the bolts and brackets were in bags so if they weren't in bags the bolts would have been missing and probably some of the brackets

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

Hell no lol. I'm waiting on some money so I can order the seals for the doors. I also promised Laura that we would work on her kitchen this weekend some. Had to work today and tomorrow I have to cut the grass. So the kitchen is outta the question this weekend. Next Saturday mom and dad are gonna be here to help on the kitchen so another weekend of no truck. This week I'm gonna try and sneak out and get the doors stripped and ready for paint and new seals

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

Thanks Micheal. I really appreciate it.

On a side note, we have decided to get Laura a 4 door car instead of her having to drive this. So I'm not held down to a two month deadline now. I would still like to have the truck completed by thanksgiving. We have an annual family reunion at our property upstate and I'd like to be able to take it to that so I can trailer my neighbors golf cart up there. There's about 600 acres with trails and the golf cart is gas powered and lifted 12" with 23 inch tires. I'm gonna take it up there so I can hook a trailer behind it and take all the kids through the woods with it lol.

So once I get some work done to Laura's kitchen then I can get hot and heavy on the crew cab . Gotta make the wife happy. Happy wife happy life. There's is no truer statement in my life lmao

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

That's probably from the a-holes at one of the distribution centers digging in there thinking "hey there might be a turbo in here I can steal". I've lost (meaning nobody knows what happened to them) high dollar push rods and other $$$ car parts through the post office. They sincerely just don't care and filing claims is a joke. UPS all the way.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

Yeah I'll never ship anything through the post office again. I shipped a radio to a member here and it looked like they through it off the top of their building. I refunded his money andhe came over this side of the country on vacation and gave me the radio back. I fixed the radio took it apart cleaned it up and polished all the little chrome bits and he picked it back up on vacation again yesterday. I can not say enough how great a guy 87bob is. Anyways, and now this. It doesn't look like anything is damaged. The turbo and the intake manifold and the expensive things were shipped fedex. I told the shipper to ship them as cheap as possible. I got 5 packages. 2 from fedex and 3 flat rate boxes from the post office. The shipper was only doing what I asked him to do. Andif the packages were not packaged as well as they were I probably wouldn't have gotten everything or something would have been damaged.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

Haven't touched it unfortunately. Got alot done to the kitchen though lol. I've been told I have to finish the kitchen before I start on the truck again. I'm gonna try to do some work stripping the doors this week but it's raining like crazy here.

This rain has been a PITA this year. I'm really surprised it hasn't flooded here yet.

Ok so I figured I'd bring this back from the dead.

I just bought this truck back from Josh. Don't laugh Right now plans are up in the air with the truck once I get it back here.

But the truck is bought and paid for and I'm probably going to go pick it up next weekend

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed

I don't know exactly what the plans are for it just yet. I am also getting the CUCV 1 ton suspension from Josh so we'll see what happens. I need to get it back to the house and see exactly what I have and get my thoughts together on it. It'll most likely become a 4wd with CUCV suspension.
