Thanks for the props guys. Right now I seemed very overwhelmed with paint and body work. I have built/moded a ton of cars over the years, including building two T roadsters (a '23 and '27) from scratch but this is definitely the deepest I have ever gone into a project. Paint and body work is a new teritory for me...

So I decided to work on something other than body work. I have had this idea in my head for a while and finally got all the pieces together and the time to work on it. I wanted to do something different for the dash and gauge panel, as I am going to be using some Mooneye's gauges I bought a while ago. One thing that has always bugged me was the factory gauges being so low and hard to see pass the steering wheel.
With the ideas I have seen using a glove box door, one thing that I hadn't cared for was just mounting them directly into the door. It just seems so plain. I had the idea of grafting in a '64-'66 door into a '67-'72 door. Though I am not finished, here is where I am at, at the moment. Two doors destined to become one  "De-skinning" the two doors   Stripped the "outer" door and marked up for cutting  Cut out for the "inner" door  Two doors welded together   Still have to cut for the column, setup the switches at the bottom, cut for gauges, etc., etc. but I think this gives a good idea of what I had in mind. So far happy with the results... now I need to get it fitted to the cab...

Had a couple hours to work yesterday so did a little more on the dash panel. Got the mounts made so the panel is removable but no fasteners are visable.
Had to trim the stock switch mounts off  Mounted in the dash   Still have lots of work to finish up the switch mounts so they fit like stock and the column cut out. Also figuring out the gauge layout. Think I am going to change from my original idea as all 6 gauges looks a little busy.

Worked on the door corners, welding in patches. Went well and am glad those are done. Just need to finish doing some stripping and then get them into prime.
Welding in the patch  Done welding and grinding   Wanted to try out my new Miketa sander/polisher with a 3M surface conditioner pad. Needed to find a faster way to strip paint over the 3" strip disk I have been using. Think I found about 7 layers total. LOL  Still have a very long way to go...

Well, I got a little side tracked by this...
 Haven't given up on HRH but am trying to get the '65 road worthy and reliable.  Will get back on the project soon but having the '65 which is basically done the way I was thinking of doing the '68 has changed my mind on how I am going to do it. A little less old school then how I was thinking. Stay tuned...
