Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

Looks great, I agree its a lot of cab to spray. I could not even shut the doors to the booth.

My wife actually named my crew Clifford also, do you know the "story" about Clifford the big red dog!!! My truck fits the story well..

Isn't the roof fun to spray, I actually set up a scaffold on both sides to reach the centre of the roof.

We bought a new booth a few years ago just because the new crew cabs were to long to fit in the booth.

We have some aluminum stand that we use to spray roofs. Man you are give out from leaning out over the roof by the time you get done.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Looking really good man, it's going to be nice once you get it all painted, together and lowered some more.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

Thanks man, wish it was going faster but I don't want to rush it either. Thinking about doing a different front crossmember to alter the geometry a bit.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

I got both fenders ready to shoot tomorrow. All the doors but one is ready for final prime. But my right front door ended up having to much rust in the shell to jack with, so i ordered a new door. It came in wasted, so i will have another one monday.
Hopefully i can shoot the doors next weekend, then all i will like is the hood, which i dont have yet and the tailgate.

I also got my dropped spindles in this week, and picked up a set of leaf sping pads to do the flip on the rear. I also got new ball joints too.

Question for some of you DIY flip guys. How far does the rear need to go back after flipping? 1" or 2"?

Pics tomorrow.

I put mine in the center, but I don't have a driveshaft yet so I can have mine made to fit. If I remember correctly most flip kits move the rearend 5/8" rearward, for what I understand to keep the existing driveshaft.

Since it's not dropped yet, pull a measurement now to use & just recenter.
