Love the use of the bedside on the upper 'gate' and the wheel/tire/cap combo. What's that hangin off the plate?

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

Man, I have seen a few pictures of this truck scattered around this site, but never had any idea what it was. This is the first I have seen this thread, and just spent a little while reading through the build. Very kool build, and very nice work. Simply an amazing truck.

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

The thing hanging of the plate is an aluminum cast car club plaque. It hangs from chains so when it hits things (and it hits A LOT) it just swings out the way, haha.

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

I've decided the GMC grille isn't for me. It just doesn't flow. I'm on the lookout for a nice 60-61 Chevy grille instead, I think that'll suit it better.

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

I see what your saying,it does look a bit "heavy",a 60-61 grill would lighten it up alot
ha ha like it needs less weight up front
Don't throw that GMC one away though, wink wink lol
I've seen a couple around here but they're just beat
I'll keep my eyes peeled

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

an idea I had once was to use a big truck grille, and section it down to fit in the small truck opening...you would have to take an inch or so off the bottom to get it to fit...

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

Haha, have no fear of me getting rid of the GMC one, I actually bought it originally for my dad's 66 GMC, then decided to just forget telling him that's what it was for... Lol.

As for a big truck grille, I've seen TONS of them, but none I can picture looking as good as a 60-61 grille. It'd be sweet to have something else strange and Kustom, but at the same time it's hard to improve on a good looking stock grille.

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

I really like that chopped C60 grille! What's involved in cutting it down and mounting it? Those are a dime a dozen in this part of the world.

Re: Project Tornado: A Natural Disaster

looks like just cut out an inch or so horizontal, and then put some c10 headlight bucket/mounting brackets on it.
