Re: 1970 Longbed Build

Thanks guys.

While the boys sleep during the day, I'm able to sneak out to the shop and fill molding holes on the C10. Making some progress, little by little.

Re: 1970 Longbed Build

During the boys' 3 hour naps this weekend, I was able to fill all of the molding holes.

Should get the rear 8" wheels mounted this week, and off to paint.

Hehe. It's the teaser. This thing has been sitting out in a field for too long and needs the pressure washer!

This project build was a great read. Learned a lot of how a project like this can change directions. Clean looking ride bud.

Thanks for your comments. I know the longbeds are sometimes looked down upon, but I love these trucks.

You're right about it changing directions. Believe it or not I actually learned a lot about myself with this build too. Seeing all of the big wheel trucks on this site, I assumed that's what I wanted. But, it's not for me. I don't like the attention, and will be a traditional hot rodder from here on out. I think.

She's off to paint, and then will be listed on eBay for the next guy (or gal) to finalize.

Re: 1970 Longbed Build

Well happy Friday people!!

Threw a rod this morning, so there's that. I'm going to pull the 350 out of the new truck "Double Stuff" and put in the white truck. The 350 in the new truck has a ton of pop and runs like a dream.

Then I'll need to order something for the new truck. I'm thinking a 383 from West Coast Engines out of Reno.

Stay tuned. And know, you're have a better day than me!

What!?!? That sucks man. Well at least it gives you a reason to get a new engine for the new truck

Awesome truck man and being a lwb makes it better. What did you do with those impala caps? They would look good on my wagon.

Re: 1970 Longbed Build

Seeing a lowered LWB really makes me think twice about converting mine to a SWB. Nice work.
