Looking good. I'm dreading the bodywork portion of my build.

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

I have a good woman at home that allows me to spend my days at home out in the garage or this thing would not be as far along as it is. Hard to believe its been almost 2 years so far.

Yall just wait.. the fun will start when I get to the wiring... thats when I start using lots of 4 letter words.... like "HELP" and I "Quit" lol

But really.. the body work is what I do while saving money for other parts... and as you can see, Ive been saving for a little while now..

Still gotta get the frame plumbed with fuel lines and brake lines and stuff.

Thanks for watching, stay tuned

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

Thinking about brake lines again since I never ran them on the frame... I was looking at LMC for a full pre-bent stainless set, but they only offer the front set in SS and not from the front to the back... Whats up with that?

Anyone know where I can find a full Stainless pre-bent set?

Also while Im at it... Im wondering what I should be doing for fuel lines from the new rear mount gas tank?

Right Stuff Detailing ,made right there in Ohio but you can order them thru Summit Racing . If you ever have time go by there for a tour ,he used to have several nice Camaro's and a Chevelle or 2 .

I got it all welded up but didn't upload pics because I didn't really like the result. Gonna do some cutting and re-do some if it when I get back home again this weekend. But over all it looks really cool.

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

I'm totally into this. Haven't read through a build thread from beginning to end in awhile, but this one got me. I relate to all of this in a similar way where the money comes and goes, I always find a new part that I need, and I'm constantly changing my mind... haha

Great build so far and it's been great following along! Keep it up!

Thanks... for me work has been slow since the first of the year and I just told my dispatcher that Im having to make the hard choice of buying truck parts or paying bills and feeding the kids, and so we are running out of candles and everyone is starving! lol

The cab and front clip is almost ready for paint, but I have yet to touch the bed, and the engine is sitting and staring at where its going to be, and all I have for the interior so far is the restored steering column and some leather bucket seats... so, yeah... I have a ways to go yet.

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

After going through some of the other build threads in here by guys that actually know what they're doing I've almost decided to just call the scrap yard to haul mine away....

I should know better by now than to go see how guys that know how to build with the kind of attention to every little detail do it. Doing this solo is not the way to be doing it.... but its all I have.

Someone remind me to not go looking at these other threads again please....

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

Any ideas on how to get some sort of radius on the tops of these? I should have known better than to do it like this to start with... but if I can do something about it without cutting everything lose and starting over that would be great...

I agree with Flashed, i think this is a great build and i enjoy following it as well. We all get a little discouraged from time to time because we don't have the experience when trying something new, but trying is learning!

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

Thanks for the push guys.. I wasn't planning on quitting by any means... But this hood, I'm finding out after mounting it, is not going to work at all.

I guess I should made the recesses set further back from the front because as it stands, the front part that was supposed to get cut open for air is too close to the rad support for an opening to do much good... not only that but I'm not sure I would even be able to get upper rad mounts in place.

See if you can make some sense out of these pics I took from under the hood...

The top of the rad support is sammiched between the front of the hood frame and the scoops I made...

Any ideas what I may be able to do here?

I thought I was going to have to call the Fire Department to come get me out from the engine compartment but I got a better shot of what I'm talking about...

Re: Blood Sweat and Tears.. 67 Build Thread

Welp.. the more I thought about it I started to wondered if the radiator was even gonna fit now... I doesn't... I need to find a radiator that's no more than 17" tall to the top of the cap... it can be several inches wider than this one too...

This is the radiator that was in the truck when I got it... I know it was just tossed in there and half ass mounted, so I'm gonna be looking to see if I can find a shorter one that might give me the room I need to use this hood.. Since the scoops are so close to the support but I still have some room over top of the support, I'm thinking about connecting the front hood frame to the scoops (But not changing the over all appearance you see from out side) and creating an opening in front of the support to pull air from the grill area... This might still work after all....

Or just make it where they don't drop as far, still would have the same effect.
